The Dominica ED Card (Embarkation/Disembarkation Card) is the country’s mandatory online immigration and customs declaration that replaces the old paper arrival/departure form. Every traveler, whether visa-free or visa-required, must complete it before arriving in Dominica so immigration and customs have your travel, personal, and declaration details in advance.
You fill it out online. After submitting, you receive a confirmation and QR code. Save it on your phone or print it, because you may need to show it with your passport on arrival (and sometimes again on departure).
You need a visitor (tourist) visa only if your nationality is not on Dominica’s visa-exempt list.
Dominica’s official immigration guidance lists these standard documents for a visitor visa application:
Applications are handled through Dominica’s Immigration Division / overseas missions.
Important: Even with a visa, you must complete Dominica’s digital ED Card before travel.
*We currently don't offer the Dominica visa, but can help travelers get the ED Card with a simplified online process.
Most travelers to Dominica can enter visa-free for tourism or short business stays. Citizens of the UK, US, Canada, many EU countries, Commonwealth nations, and CARICOM states generally don’t need a visa and may be granted stays from about 3 months up to 6 months on arrival. If your nationality is not in a visa-exempt group, you must obtain a visitor visa before traveling through a Dominican embassy/consulate or the Immigration Division.
Even if you are visa-free, standard entry conditions apply at the border: a valid passport, a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation or local address, and evidence you can fund your stay. Stay extensions are possible in-country through the Immigration Division.
All travelers to Dominica must complete the free online ED Card (Embarkation/Disembarkation Card) before arrival. You fill it out online and receive a confirmation/QR code to show on arrival (and often again on departure).
Applying for a visa on your own can be confusing and time-consuming. iVisa simplifies the process, reduces errors, and gives you peace of mind
If your nationality is not visa-exempt, you must obtain a visitor visa before traveling through a Dominican embassy/consulate or the Immigration Division.
Important: All travelers must still fill out the Dominica ED Card, this is a separate requirement.
If you forget, you’ll likely need to complete it online or in-person at the airport. Doing it in advance is strongly recommended to avoid queues and delays.
