The Libya eVisa is a single-entry visa that allows travelers to stay in Libya for up to 30 days. It is valid for six months from the date of issue, meaning you must enter Libya within that period. The Libya eVisa is accepted at main entry points such as Tripoli and Benghazi airports.
Tourists without a pre-paid tour or sponsor must exchange dollars to have 1000 Libyan Dinars or more upon arrival in Libya, ensuring financial sufficiency for the time of the visit. Failure to do so will result in denial of entry at the border, so make sure to exchange money before you depart.
This visa is available for travelers passing through Libya who need to leave the airport. It allows a short stay of up to 72 hours.
You must provide evidence of your onward travel, such as a confirmed ticket and a visa for your next destination if required. Transit visas are not available online and must be obtained through a Libyan embassy before your trip.

Libya requires visas for almost all foreign nationals. As of 2024, the eVisa is the most accessible option for short visits. It is valid for six months from the date of issue and allows a 30-day stay.
The eVisa can be used for tourism, short business visits, or family trips, but it does not allow you to work or study. You must apply in advance and present the printed eVisa upon arrival. Immigration authorities may also ask for evidence of accommodation, return travel, or funds.
Entry with Israeli stamps or visas in your passport is not permitted. Land borders may be closed without notice, and travelers are advised to enter through international airports in Tripoli or Benghazi.
Longer-term visas for employment, study, or residency must be obtained from a Libyan embassy. These typically require supporting documents and a sponsor. While Yellow Fever vaccination is not required, general health checks may take place at entry points.
Visa extensions are occasionally granted, but must be requested at an immigration office in Libya before your visa expires. Overstaying can result in fines, deportation, or reentry bans.
