Most foreign nationals, including US citizens, must obtain a visa before traveling to Benin for tourism, business, or transit. Benin provides an eVisa system for all nationalities, offering stays of 30 or 90 days with single or multiple entries. Citizens of African Union member states, ECOWAS countries, and certain others, like Haiti and Israel, don't require a visa for stays up to 90 days.

Always carry a printed copy of your approved eVisa and your passport. You may also be asked to show your return ticket, accommodation details, or vaccination certificates (especially yellow fever) at the border.
