We’ll email the approved eVisa and tell you how to use it for your trip.
The Moldova eVisa is perfect for short trips. It’s fully online, no embassy visit required. Travelers from eligible countries can use it for tourism, business trips, visiting friends or family, cultural events, or even short layovers. It’s a single-entry visa and lets you stay for up to 90 days.
Once approved, you have 90 days to enter Moldova. The whole process is fast and simple.
Moldova’s visa policy varies by nationality, purpose of visit, and length of stay. Citizens of more than 60 countries, including all EU member states, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, can enter Moldova without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. For travelers who do require a visa, Moldova offers several options depending on how and why you're visiting.
The most convenient option is the Moldova eVisa, available online for tourism, business, family visits, cultural events, and short transits. It’s valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows a single stay of up to 90 days. If you’re not eligible for the eVisa or need a multiple-entry visa, you’ll need to apply for a sticker visa through a Moldovan embassy. The most common is the Type C visa for short stays, which includes categories for tourism, private visits, and business. Business travelers must usually present an official invitation from a Moldovan company.
Moldova also issues two types of transit visas. The Type A airport transit visa is for travelers who are changing flights in Moldova and will remain in the international transit area of the airport. It doesn’t allow entry into the country. The Type B transit visa is for those passing through Moldova on the way to another destination. It allows entry into Moldova for up to five days and requires proof of onward travel and a visa for the final destination, if needed.
In some cases, travelers holding valid visas or residence permits from the EU, Schengen countries, the UK, the US, or Canada can enter Moldova without applying for a separate Moldovan visa, thanks to a substitute visa policy.
All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least three months beyond their departure date and may be asked to show proof of accommodation, travel plans, and sufficient funds. Overstays and entry violations can result in fines or future travel bans, so it’s important to follow the rules and apply for any needed extensions on time.
Applying for a visa on your own can be confusing and time-consuming. iVisa simplifies the process, reduces errors, and gives you peace of mind
It depends on the visa you’re issued. The eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date it’s issued. Within that window, you’re allowed to stay in Moldova for up to 90 days total. If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.
Yes. The Moldova eVisa covers both tourist and business travel. Tourism purposes include vacations, visiting family, and attending cultural or sports events. For business trips, the eVisa allows activities such as meetings, conferences, and short-term professional engagements, all via the same application process.
Most Moldova eVisa applications are processed within 10 calendar days, though it can take up to 20 days, depending on your specific case. For urgent trips, you may pay extra for our Rush or Super Rush services, but allowing at least two weeks helps avoid stress.
Extensions may be granted through Moldova’s Bureau for Migration and Asylum, but you must apply before your visa expires, and extensions aren’t guaranteed. You cannot overstay without risking fines or future entry bans.
Most tourist/business applicants don’t need one if they show confirmed hotel bookings or return flights. However, if you’re visiting a private individual or your host is providing accommodation, you may need an official invitation issued by Moldova’s Bureau for Migration and Asylum. Some nationalities are also required to have an invitation letter.
No, Moldova doesn’t offer visa-on-arrival. You must apply before you travel and have the approved eVisa in hand (or printed) - if you need a visa. Attempting to board a flight or cross a border without the proper authorization can result in being denied entry.
You can apply for your eVisa through the government or iVisa (download our mobile app). For other visas and documents, you’ll need to complete the application process through the government, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at a Moldova embassy or consulate. Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.
Overstaying without an approved extension may result in fines, detention, or future entry bans. You should always apply for an extension before your current permission expires through the Moldova Immigration Department.
If you hold a valid C‑type or D‑type visa or residence permit from the EU, Schengen area, UK, US, or Canada, you may enter Moldova without needing to apply for a Moldovan visa, provided your travel documents meet entry requirements and are valid.
Our team of iVisa experts will review your documents to make sure you have the best chance of being approved.
We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.
Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.
In the meantime, download the iVisa app, so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
