FAQs

It depends on your travel plans. Short stays for tourism, business, or family visits require a Schengen Visa (Type C). Longer stays, work, or study require a national visa or residence permit. Visa-exempt travelers will need ETIAS once it is implemented.
ETIAS is an upcoming online authorization required before entering Luxembourg and the Schengen Area. It is not a visa but will allow short visits up to 90 days in a 180-day period. You’ll need to apply online before your trip once it’s active.
No. A Schengen Visa only covers short stays for tourism, business, or visiting family. Work requires a national visa or residence permit applied for before arrival.
Yes. A valid Luxembourg-issued Schengen Visa allows travel throughout all Schengen countries, provided your total stay does not exceed 90 days in 180 days.
Our legal partner reviews your application for accuracy and completeness. We flag any missing information early so you can avoid delays. Once authorities approve it, you’ll receive an email with next steps.
The 90/180-rule means you can stay up to 90 days total in any 180-day window. Think of it as a rolling count backward from each day in the Schengen Area. Time passing is what resets your allowance, not leaving the area.
A Luxembourg Schengen Visa (Type C) is required for travelers from visa-required countries and must be approved before travel. ETIAS is an online authorization for visa-exempt travelers. It is faster to get than a visa, allows short stays, but does not permit work or long-term residence.
