Saint Kitts and Nevis visa policy

Visa-exempt travelers must have a Saint Kitts and Nevis ETA before visiting the country, unless they require a visa instead. The ETA is valid for tourism, business, and family visits and generally allows a stay of up to 90 days. Some nationalities, like the UK or Canada, can stay up to 6 months.

Typically, cruise ship passengers don't need an ETA, but travelers should check this with their cruise company.

Immigration officers may request proof of onward travel, accommodation details, and sufficient funds for the duration of the stay. Entry is granted at the discretion of local authorities.

FAQs

The ETA is a travel authorization required for certain travelers who are otherwise visa-exempt. It is obtained online before travel and allows short visits for tourism or limited business activities.

The eVisa is required for travelers from visa-required countries who are not eligible for the ETA.

The length of your stay in Saint Kitts and Nevis depends on your nationality and the purpose of your visit. Most travelers receive up to 90 days.

While the ETA is mandatory for entry, it is the immigration officer at the border who ultimately determines your specific stay duration.

No. Neither the ETA nor the eVisa allows employment in St. Kitts and Nevis. If you plan to take up paid work, you must obtain an approved work permit and work visa before starting employment. Working without proper authorization can result in fines, deportation, or future entry bans.

Airlines may deny boarding if you do not have the required travel authorization. If you arrive without the correct document, immigration authorities can refuse entry and require you to return to your point of departure at your own expense.
