Purpose: The Djibouti eVisa is issued for travelers visiting Djibouti for tourism, business, family visits, or short-term transit purposes.
Duration and extensions: Djibouti eVisas are typically issued for short stays of up to 90 days. Extensions may be possible by applying to the immigration authorities in Djibouti, subject to approval.
Entries: The eVisa is generally issued as a single-entry visa.
Ports of entry: Djibouti eVisa holders must enter through approved entry points, primarily Djibouti–Ambouli International Airport. Entry via certain land borders may be restricted for eVisa holders.
Delivery format: The approved eVisa is sent via email as a PDF. Travelers must print a copy of the approved eVisa and present it, along with their valid passport, upon arrival in Djibouti.
Diplomatic, Official & Service Visa – Issued for government or diplomatic travel, with duration and entries depending on mission status.
Entry Visa (Precursor to Work/Residence/Study) – A required first step for long-term stay (work, study, or residency), usually single-entry and non-extendable, followed by a residence permit.
Work Permit/Visa – Granted for employment in Djibouti, renewable based on contract, and requires an employer application.
Residence Permit – Required for long-term residence after an entry visa or work permit, renewable through the Ministry of Interior, and functions as official ID.
