Can I extend my Benin eVisa?

Yes, but an extension cannot be done online. You must visit the Immigration Office (Direction de l'Émigration et de l'Immigration) in Cotonou to request an extension before your current visa expires.

Do I need the Benin eVisa when I’m transiting?

If you are arriving at Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport (COO) and your connecting flight is within 24 hours, you generally do not need an eVisa or transit visa as long as:

You stay within the international transit area of the airport.
You do not clear immigration or collect luggage that requires re-checking.
Your onward flight is confirmed and you have the necessary documents for your final destination.
