Hi Peter,
As a German passport holder, you are required to obtain a visa before traveling to Cameroon, even for short stays and regardless of whether you are entering overland by bicycle. You can apply for your e-Visa here on our platform today quickly and easily. In addition to a valid passport (typically with at least six months’ validity), you will usually need proof of accommodation, return or onward travel, travel itinerary, and possibly proof of sufficient funds. Yellow fever vaccination is also mandatory for entry into Cameroon, so we advise that you look into the latest travel vaccination requirements before your trip.
Hi Michael,
If you hold two passports, you should always apply with the passport you’ll use to enter and exit Cameroon. The Cameroon eVisa is digitally linked to your passport number, so immigration officers will scan that document on arrival.
If both of your nationalities are eligible for the eVisa, choose the one with the fewest entry restrictions or the longest validity. However, if one of your passports requires an embassy visa (for example, from the US or France), and the other qualifies for the eVisa, we recommend applying with the visa-eligible passport to make things easier.
Once your visa is approved, make sure the passport number on your eVisa PDF matches the one you’ll carry. If there’s an error, contact iVisa’s support team immediately, we can help fix it before your trip.
Hi Irina! The Cameroon eVisa is processed within 72 hours on average, so it would be wise to check with our team via WhatsApp if they can help you get a faster result.
Once approved, you’ll receive your eVisa confirmation by email, which you can show at Yaoundé or Douala airports upon arrival.
Hi Jamie, great question! With iVisa, you can submit all Cameroon eVisa applications in one session by simply clicking “Add another person” during the process. You’ll make a single payment and manage all travelers under one account, ideal for companies or colleagues traveling together.
Each application is processed individually by the Cameroon government, but as long as all details are complete and accurate, approvals usually come through around the same time.
You can also track every application and find and download approved visas in one spot directly from your iVisa account or the iVisa app. Even if someone on your team loses access, all documents remain securely stored and easy to find.

Questions?
Before you travel, you must check carefully the “valid until” date on your eVisa approval/authorization. Some applicants that applied via the government have reported that the issued authorization shows a validity that ends before they actually plan to fly.
If your approval letter shows a “valid until” date that is BEFORE your travel date or before your planned stay ends, this is usually an error or oversight in the system. Use the contact e-mail or phone number on the official portal (or the local consulate) and request a correction. Do not rely solely on the printed authorization if it shows incorrect dates.
Errors in your application can lead to delays, rejection, or complications at boarding/entry. Double-check every field before submitting: name exactly as on passport, passport number, date of birth, expiry date etc.
Ensure uploads (passport image, photo, invitation letter, yellow fever certificate etc.) are clear, in the correct format, and fully legible. When applying through iVisa, we do the main check against your passport and make sure all documents are correctly uploaded to avoid errors.
If you realize you made a mistake after submission but before approval, let us know immediately via chat or WhatsApp.
Overstaying the authorized period on your Cameroon eVisa can lead to serious consequences, including fines, detention, or deportation. The immigration system automatically records your entry and exit dates, so overstays are easily detected.
It is strongly advised to plan your trip carefully and leave the country before the expiration of your visa validity or authorized stay.
Each traveler, including minors, must have their own eVisa approval. Parents or guardians can apply on behalf of children using their own online account, but every passport holder needs an individual authorization.
When applying for a child’s eVisa, you must upload the child’s passport page and birth certificate, along with a letter of consent from the parent or legal guardian who is not travelling, if applicable. At the airport, immigration will ask to see the child’s passport, eVisa authorization, and sometimes proof of guardianship if only one parent is present.
The most common issues that cause delays include:
- Entering your passport number incorrectly (even one typo matters)
- Uploading a blurry passport photo or cropped passport bio page
- Submitting documents that don’t match your purpose of travel (such as missing an invitation letter when required)
- Using a passport that expires too soon (your passport should be valid for at least 6 months)
- Forgetting to upload your Yellow Fever vaccination certificate
To avoid delays, apply early and make sure your documents are clear and complete before submitting.
