Mongolia eVisa Online

The Mongolia eVisa is an electronic visa available to citizens of 70+ countries. It allows short stays for tourism, business meetings, family visits, cultural or sports events, and transit.

It allows travelers to stay in Mongolia for between 30 and 90 days depending on their nationality. At the border control in Mongolia, you will be requested to provide your biometric details (fingerprints and photo).

What you’ll need to apply for the Mongolia eVisa Online:

  • 🛂 Passport: Valid for at least 90 days after entry (6 months recommended)
  • 🤳 A selfie or photo: Follow our step-by-step guidance to take your own photo or upload one you’ve already taken

Visa on Arrival*

Indian passport holders traveling for tourism can obtain a Mongolia visa on arrival at entry points such as Chinggis Khaan International Airport, provided they do not have a Mongolian embassy in India. This visa grants a 30-day stay and requires you to show a completed application form, a passport photo, proof of hotel booking, and a return/onward ticket upon arrival.

Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer this visa*

Business Visa (K1)*

The K1 visa is intended for individuals entering Mongolia for short-term business purposes, including attending meetings, negotiating contracts, representing foreign companies, or overseeing temporary projects. It typically allows a single entry and permits a stay of up to 90 days.

Before applying, the inviting Mongolian business must submit a Visa Permission request to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia. Once this permission is granted, the traveler can complete the visa application either at a Mongolian embassy or online, depending on their nationality. Applicants must present an official invitation letter, details of the sponsoring company (including registration documents), and a passport valid for at least six months.

Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer this visa*

Transit Visa (K6)*

The K6 visa is issued to foreign nationals transiting through Mongolia on their way to a third destination. This visa is available as a single- or double-transit authorization, with each stay limited to a maximum of 10 days.

It is intended solely for travelers who can show proof of onward travel and a valid visa (if required) for their final destination. The transit visa does not permit tourism or business activities within Mongolia. All applicants must provide a valid passport, travel itinerary, and entry visas for onward countries when applicable.

Mongolia visa policy

Currently, nationals from over 30 countries, including most EU member states, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, can enter Mongolia without a visa for up to 30 days. Indian passport holders traveling for tourism can obtain a Mongolia visa on arrival at entry points such as Chinggis Khaan International Airport, provided they do not have a Mongolian embassy in India.

For travelers who require a visa, Mongolia provides a convenient online eVisa system. The K2 visa is the standard tourist eVisa, designed for leisure travel or visiting family. It allows a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days, and must be used within 150 days of issuance.

The K1 Visa is available for business travelers entering Mongolia for short-term purposes such as meetings, negotiations, or commercial activities. Applicants must have an official invitation from a Mongolian company, which must first obtain a Visa Permission from the Immigration Agency before the eVisa application can proceed. The K1 visa allows a stay of up to 90 days and is typically issued as a single-entry visa.

The K6 Visa is a transit visa for travelers passing through Mongolia en route to a third country. It allows a short stay of up to 10 days, and travelers must provide proof of onward travel and any required visas for the next destination.

Travelers from countries not eligible for the eVisa or those requiring longer stays must apply for traditional sticker visas through a Mongolian embassy or consulate. These may include longer-term categories for students, workers, or investors. Sticker visas generally allow single or multiple entries and are subject to the conditions of the visa type and nationality.

All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry. Proof of accommodation, sufficient financial means, and return or onward travel documents may be required upon entry. Overstays, even by a few days, may result in fines or restrictions on future visits. Always check the most recent requirements before applying, as Mongolia’s visa rules are subject to updates.

FAQs

It depends on the visa you’re issued. The Mongolia eVisa is valid for a single entry and allows you to stay in the country for up to 30 days. Once issued, you have 150 days to enter Mongolia before it expires. If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.

Yes. Whether you're visa-exempt or hold a visa, anyone staying longer than 30 days must register with the Immigration Agency of Mongolia within seven days of arrival. Registration is done online via the e-Immigration portal or app, or by your hotel/host. Failure to register can result in fines or being prevented from leaving the country.

Most Mongolia eVisas are processed within three business days. However, delays can happen if your application is incomplete, documents are unclear, or if there are high volumes of requests. It’s best to apply at least two to three weeks before your intended departure to avoid last-minute stress.

Yes, you can extend your eVisa in Mongolia, usually for an additional 30 days. To do this, you must apply before your current visa expires, ideally at least four days in advance. Extensions are granted through the Immigration Agency, and you may need to provide a valid reason, such as tourism delays, medical treatment, or flight disruptions. Be aware that overstaying without an approved extension can result in fines and travel restrictions.

The Mongolia eVisa is valid for entry through major international ports of entry, including Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar and several land border checkpoints. However, not all land crossings accept eVisas, so it’s important to check the most up-to-date list of approved entry points before traveling. If in doubt, flying into Ulaanbaatar is the safest option.

You can apply for your eVisa through the government or iVisa. For other visas and documents, you’ll need to complete the application process through the government, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at a Mongolia embassy or consulate. Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.

Yes. Every traveler, including infants and children, must have their own completed Mongolia eVisa. Parents or guardians can complete it on their behalf.

Overstaying without an approved extension may result in fines, detention, or future entry bans. You should always apply for an extension before your current permission expires through the Mongolia Immigration Department.

No. The eVisa must be applied for and approved before you travel. Mongolia only offers a visa on arrival for Indian nationals. Attempting to board a flight without the correct documentation may result in being denied entry at the airport or border.

.

Our team of iVisa experts will review your documents to make sure you have the best chance of being approved.

We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.

Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.
