Learn More: Covid Certificate | Online Digital Tourist Passport

DOCUMENT OVERVIEW
Switzerland is one of the only countries in Europe to release its own COVID passport and not fully implement the EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC). Swiss residents are issued a COVID certificate if they have been vaccinated, recently recovered from the virus, or have tested negative for the virus.

Once you are fully vaccinated, you can request a COVID certificate. Please note that you must enter your personal details as they appear on your ID card or passport. This will avoid any difficulties when your certificate is checked against your identification document. The aim of the Switzerland COVID Certificate requirement is to reduce stress on hospitals and health systems which are currently struggling to keep up with the Delta-fueled fourth wave of COVID-19 in Switzerland.

The Swiss authorities announced that starting from September 13, the COVID Certificate is mandatory for all persons over the age of 16, including tourists, who wish to access indoor areas of restaurants, cultural and leisure facilities, and several other events.

You can request the COVID certificate on paper or as a PDF document with a QR code.

WHO CAN ENTER SWITZERLAND WITH THIS DOCUMENT
Visitors will be able to enter Switzerland if they complete the Switzerland COVID Certificate application accurately and come from an eligible country. It is only valid in Switzerland. If the country where you are coming from is considered high-risk, you will not be able to enter without a vaccine certificate and/or a negative COVID-19 test result.

All persons who can prove that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, recovered from the disease, or those who have recently tested negative are eligible for the document.

All nationalities can apply for the documents here.

OBTAIN THE SWITZERLAND COVID CERTIFICATE
To fill out the Switzerland COVID Certificate application, you will have to provide specific information about yourself (including your full name and birthday), details about your trip (including your passport number, the accommodation where you will stay, and flight number). You will also have to specify which means you will use to enter the country: airplane, bus, train, ship, or car. If you are traveling with minors, you will have to provide their information as well.

All unvaccinated travelers (age 16+) will need a negative COVID-19 PCR test result conducted no more than 72 hours before entry or a negative antigen test result taken no more than 48 hours prior to entry, in order to enter Switzerland. You will need to provide this information for your COVID Certificate application.

Your personal details on the document should correspond with those in your passport or on your ID card. This will ensure that you do not experience possible difficulties when your certificate is being checked against your identification document.
