What you need to know

  • EVUS is an electronic visa update system implemented by USA, this is not a visa.

  • EVUS is mandatory for people who hold a People’s Republic of China valid passport and have been granted a 10-year USA B1/B2 visa.

  • Travelers must have a passport with at least 6-months validity from the date of arrival and a valid B1/B2 USA visa.

  • EVUS allows applicants Multiple entry in United States of America and visitor can remain in the country for up to 90 days per entry.

  • Possession of an EVUS does not provide automatic right of entry for the holder into USA. The Immigration Officer at the port of entry may refuse entry to any person, if he considers that such a person is unable to fulfill the immigration requirements or that such person's presence in United States would be contrary to national interests or security.

Why Register with the Embassy

Travel Registration is a service provided by the government. This service allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad to the Department of State so it can be used to assist you in case of an emergency. Each EVUS enrollment requires the traveler to provide their name, date of birth, emergency contact, passport, and biographical and employment information. Travelers will also answer questions related to travel eligibility.
Travelers can enroll in EVUS at any time, including at the airport. However, responses may take up to 72 hours, so you could miss your flight if you forget to enroll before arriving at the airport. Don't delay – enroll now!
No, your visa remains valid. Enrollment in EVUS is separate from the visa application process.

An unsuccessful enrollment may be due to an administrative error, such as failure to provide complete information on the EVUS form. You may reapply for a United States EVUS

EVUS only applies to holders of 10-year B1/B2, B1, or B2 visas. If you are a passport holder from the People's Republic of China, but your visa is only valid for one year, you do not have to enroll in EVUS.
