Lithuania is one of the most popular countries along the shores of the Baltic Sea, on the northern side of Europe. This country has a coastline in the Baltic Sea which is famous around the globe. It shares borders with Latvia in the north, Poland in the southwest, Belarus in the east, and Russia on the west side. The original name of this country is Lietuva in the Lithuanian language, but it’s more popular to call it Lithuania as it is the English translation. This Baltic State is a former Soviet bloc nation and it’s very famous for its capital Vilnius that houses an interesting medieval Old Town. At the same time, Lithuania has a lot of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture in every corner of its streets. Lithuania always attracts a large number of tourists from nearby countries and from all over the world. In 2018, more than 1.7 million visitors arrived in the country for travel and business alone. But in that year, there were fewer restrictions than now. This is important to mention because if you’re planning a trip to Lithuania, you have to apply for the Lithuania Registration Form first. The Lithuania Registration Form is an electronic travel authorization that authorizes you to enter Lithuania by offering your basic details upon arrival. It’s not the same as a paper visa because it’s a lot easier to get this document, especially if you use iVisa.com’s website, which offers simple forms and step-by-step instructions. We recommend you apply for the Lithuania Registration Form before continuing with the rest of your travel arrangements because without this document you will be denied entry. As for the main attractions for the Lithuanian tourist industry, most of them are untouched nature reserves, beaches, and spa resorts. Travelers can learn much about the country’s varied history and the rich tapestry of stories about the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, as well as taking in the country’s architectural attractions. Tourism is important here because it contributes a lot to the country’s economy. The Lithuanian climate can vary from moderate winters and warm summers. Most of the terrain in this country is composed of lowland with deep-blue lakes dotting the countryside. Agriculture is common in this nation because it can be easily supported thanks to its fertile soil. As for the plains, they’re separated by elevated uplands with ancient glacial deposits. 30% of the total land area is forested land. If you’re a mountain lover, then Lithuania won’t be the best place to enjoy your passion because it doesn’t have tall mountains. The highest point in this country is only 294 meters above sea level, and it’s located in Aukštojas Hill, 24 kilometers southeast of the capital Vilnius. However, you can still enjoy other stunning nature spots like Dzūkija National Park, Žemaitija National Park, and Palanga if you want to get lost with pure air and without noisy urban sounds. But, just remember that you cannot enjoy any of these spots if you don’t have your Lithuania Registration Form prior to departure. A Lithuania Registration Form is a necessary travel requirement for entering Lithuania so you should apply for one now. Lithuania’s tourism industry is looking healthy, which is why by 2017 it had reported more than 3.25 million visitor arrivals. Most of these tourists come from nearby countries like Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Russia, but that doesn’t mean that there are not citizens from further countries like the U.K. or even the US and Canada. Tourism in this country is constantly evolving because the government has been making important changes to it. For example, agrotourism has been implemented to attract more visitors each year. Ecotourism is another great example because it’s been a big part of Lithuanian tourism, especially with so many beautiful national parks as emblematic attractions. As an interesting fact, this country has been recognized as one of the top eco-destinations in the world. We highly recommend you to use your Lithuania Registration Form to easily enter Lithuania and take part in tourist activities like ecotourism. If you love nature, this destination can be an excellent place for you. Hot air ballooning and other adventure activities are very popular among tourists, both foreign and domestic. Adventure tourism is important in Vilnius, the capital city, and Trakai. But that’s not all you can do, you can also take part in cultural and historical tours to different spots in this country. If you want to be surrounded by nature, you should visit Lithuania’s major biosphere reserves: Žuvintas and the Nemunas Delta Regional Park. These places are great for amateur and advanced birdwatchers. It’s recommended to take tours only with accredited and professional guides. These guides must have special guiding licenses that ensure they’re up to the European standard for tour guiding. As for the requirements you need, don’t forget to apply for the Lithuania Registration Form prior to departure. Aside from that, you only need your valid passport and nothing else to enjoy the rest of your trip. Some examples of this lost-in-time Duchy are visible in the Trakai Island Castle, sometimes called the ‘Little Mariënburg’. This castle was built to protect the territories of the Duchy. Today you can visit it and learn more about the national history of this beautiful country. You cannot forget to visit the archeological site of Kernavė, a former capital and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another important site is the Kaunas Castle, which has only a quarter of its original structure, but it’s still interesting to observe it. In case you prefer to enjoy the urban lifestyle with cozy cafés and lovely shopping sites, then you must take a trip to Vilnius, the capital city. This small but incredible place is a UNESCO site, which encompasses the historic center. You can stay there and view incredible baroque, gothic, and neoclassical buildings. There are many things to do in Lithuania, including visiting famous buildings and streets like the Pilles Street, the Cathedral Square, the Gediminas Tower and the Royal Palace. You can even visit the popular Hill of Crosses, that has more than 100,000 crosses from pilgrims all over the world, or you can enjoy the sand dunes in the Curonian Spit. There are plenty of other natural attractions for foreign and domestic tourists in this country, so you cannot get bored that easily there. But to enjoy all of these sites, you must apply for the Lithuania Registration Form first as it is the mandatory requirement for foreign travelers.
