The ETA fee rises from £16 to £20, while visit visa fees increase by six to seven percent

The UK Home Office has published revised immigration fees that will come into effect on April 8, 2026. The changes include increases to visit visa and Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) fees.
ETA fee increase
The ETA fee will rise from £16 to £20 (approximately $21 to $26), an increase of £4. This marks the second increase to the ETA fee, which was originally £10 when the scheme launched.
Visit visa fee increases
Visit visa fees will increase by approximately six to seven percent across all durations. The short-term visit visa (up to 6 months) will rise from £127 to £135 ($165 to $176), an increase of £8.
For longer durations, the 2-year visit visa will increase from £475 to £506 ($618 to $659), the 5-year visit visa from £848 to £903 ($1,103 to $1,175), and the 10-year visit visa from £1,059 to £1,128 ($1,378 to $1,468).
Transit visa fees increase
Transit visa fees will also increase from April 8. The direct airside transit visa will rise from £39 to £41.50 ($51 to $54), while the landside transit visa will increase from £70 to £74.50 ($91 to $97).
Certificate of Entitlement unchanged
The fee for a Certificate of Entitlement for Right of Abode (applied from outside the UK) remains unchanged at £589 ($767).
