Who it's for
Company representatives traveling to Papua New Guinea for genuine business purposes. There are two classes, one built for a single trip and one for repeat travel across a year, and the class you need depends on how often you expect to go.
Permitted activities
Meetings, conferences and workshops, exploratory visits and negotiations, discussions about setting up, expanding or winding up a business, job interviews and recruitment, trade missions, tour operating, buying and selling goods and services, and APEC Business Travel Card activities.
Entry points
Air only, through Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby. Travelers on the single-entry class from an eligible passport can alternatively collect the visa on arrival, while the multiple-entry class must be arranged before departure.
What you need to supply
Your passport bio-data page and a letter from a business associate in Papua New Guinea confirming the purpose, duration, location and frequency of your visits. The multiple-entry class additionally needs an employer sponsorship letter, proof your sponsor is registered with the Investment Promotion Authority, and a copy of your return ticket.
Good to know
Neither business class can be extended and neither allows a change of status once you are in the country, so the trip has to be planned correctly upfront. Family traveling with you cannot join your application and must file their own visitor permit.

Why travelers choose iVisa

On your own

  • Papua New Guinea splits business travelers into a single-trip class and a twelve-month repeat-travel class, with different fees and different documents, and expects you to work out which one you need.
  • The invitation letter, the sponsorship letter and the proof your local sponsor is properly registered are easy to overlook on the portal, and a file without them does not get through.
  • Dependents can never be added to a business applicant's own file. They have to apply for an entirely separate visitor permit, under a different name depending on which business class you hold.
  • The government site and its support run in English only, by phone, email and a web form.
  • We tell you upfront which class fits your travel pattern and give you the full document list that goes with it.
  • We check for each of these before your application is submitted, which is where a missing letter costs you the least.
  • We guide the whole party through both applications in one place, so nobody is left without cover.
  • Round-the-clock human support by chat, WhatsApp, phone and email, in your own language, from application to approval.
