I’m flying into Hanoi but then taking a domestic flight to Da Nang. Which flight number do I put on the card?

Hi Annia!

Good news!

If you’re flying into Hanoi internationally, you don’t need to fill out the Vietnam Digital Arrival Card, as it’s only meant for entry through Ho Chi Minh for now.

This may change later on. For travelers that are flying into Ho Chi Minh, they should use the international flight number that first brings you into Vietnam. The Digital Arrival Card is for your initial entry into the country.

Enjoy your trip!

Questions?

How long you can stay in Vietnam depends on your nationality, visa type, and purpose of travel.

The Vietnam Digital Arrival Card is valid for a single entry. You must complete a new declaration each time you enter Vietnam.

Almost all foreign nationals and even returning residents are required to complete this declaration before passing through immigration. To avoid issues at the gate, click Apply now on this page to check if you qualify and start your application instantly.

Processing is typically very fast. Most travelers receive their QR code within 24 hours.

However, we recommend applying at least 1–2 days before your departure to ensure you have your QR code ready for boarding. If you’re traveling soon, apply immediately and contact our team through WhatsApp to ask about the fastest available option.

When you arrive, you should be ready to present:

  • Your valid passport (the same one used during the application)
  • Your Vietnam Digital Arrival Card QR code (digital or printed) - if entering the country through Ho Chi Minh
  • Your valid Vietnam eVisa or visa (if required for your nationality)
  • Proof of onward travel or accommodation (if requested)

Important: Entry approval is always decided by immigration officers at the point of entry.

This depends entirely on where you are entering Vietnam.

In many cases, you need both.

  • Get a Vietnam eVisa to legally enter the country for the duration of your stay (if eligible).
  • Get a Digital Arrival Card to provide your health and travel itinerary details to the authorities, if you’re entering through Ho Chi Minh International Airport.

Check your eligibility easily by clicking “Apply now” on this page, and apply instantly for the right documents.

The most common issues that cause delays include:

  • Entering your flight number or arrival date incorrectly.
  • Typographical errors in your passport number or name.
  • Not providing the full address of your hotel or host in Vietnam.
  • Using a passport that expires in less than 6 months.

To avoid delays, apply early and make sure your travel details are finalized before submitting. iVisa can help you check your form to prevent common mistakes and avoid delays.
