Can I visit Vietnam without a visa?

What happens if I overstay my visa in Vietnam?

What if I'm just transiting through Vietnam?
If your layover is more than 24 hours, or you need to leave the transit area (for example, to collect luggage for a connecting flight), you need a visa if you are from a visa-required country. It's worth checking with your airline in advance. Vietnam does not offer a specific transit visa; normal visa policy applies if you need to enter the country.
