No. US citizens can visit Bermuda visa-free for tourism or business for up to 180 days (6 months). You don't need to apply for a visa at an embassy. Stays beyond six months require a formal application for an extension at the Department of Immigration in Hamilton.
What is the Bermuda Arrival Card?
The Bermuda Arrival Card is a mandatory digital form that all visitors must complete before arrival. It generates a digital record that you must present to immigration officials. It replaced the previous paper pink forms and the paid Travel Authorization. You can complete it up to 48 hours before your flight.
Can I travel to Bermuda with a US Passport Card?
Only if you're traveling by sea (cruise or private yacht). For all air travel to Bermuda, a valid US Passport Book is strictly required. Passport Cards are not accepted at airport immigration. Regardless of your mode of travel, your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay.
Can I still apply for the Work From Bermuda digital nomad visa?
No. The Work From Bermuda (WFB) certificate program officially ended on February 28, 2025. If you wish to work remotely from Bermuda in 2026, you must apply for permission to reside on an annual basis. This allows you to live on the island while working for an employer outside Bermuda, provided you meet financial and health insurance requirements.
Can I legally work for a Bermudian employer during my stay?
No. Visiting under the 180-day visa-exempt status strictly prohibits local employment. To work for a Bermudian company, your employer must obtain a work permit on your behalf before you arrive on the island. Engaging in local work without a permit is a violation of the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act and can result in deportation.
