US citizens need a visa to visit Egypt, and the most common option is the Egypt eVisa for tourism and business, which must be obtained before departure. Egypt also provides a Visa on Arrival option for US citizens at selected ports of entry. However, applying for the eVisa in advance is more convenient and helps avoid delays at the airport.

Egypt eVisa: A mandatory electronic visa that allows US citizens to enter Egypt for tourism or business. Single-entry eVisas are valid for 90 days from issuance and allow stays of up to 30 days. Multiple-entry eVisas are valid for 180 days from issuance and also allow stays of up to 30 days per visit.
