Is a yellow fever vaccination certificate required to enter Ghana?
Yes, but it is checked at the border rather than when you apply. The Ghana Immigration Service does not ask for the certificate as part of the eVisa application, so an approved eVisa is not confirmation that your vaccination record is in order. Airlines can refuse boarding and border officers can refuse entry without a valid certificate, so travel with it and keep it alongside your passport.
How long can I stay in Ghana with an eVisa?
The Ghana eVisa is typically valid for up to 90 days from the date of issuance, with a permitted stay of up to 30 or 90 days depending on your nationality and visa type. It is important to note that the validity period begins from the date of issuance, not your date of arrival, so you should time your application accordingly and avoid applying too far in advance.
Can I extend my Ghana eVisa if I want to stay longer?
Yes. Visa extensions can be applied for at the Ghana Immigration Service headquarters in Accra before your current visa expires.
