Morocco visa policy

Morocco has a flexible visa policy that depends on your nationality and purpose of travel. Citizens of more than 65 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, European Union member states, Canada, Australia, and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.

For the Morocco eVisa and Business eVisa, there is a fully online system designed for citizens of certain countries who would otherwise need to apply at a Moroccan embassy. This eVisa must be obtained before traveling and is typically valid for short stays related to tourism or business. iVisa currently offers this product, with a simplified online process and expert support.

The AEVM (also called the Electronic Travel Authorization or ETA), on the other hand, is not a full visa but a mandatory travel authorization for nationals of specific countries. In the future, AEVM will be extended to all visa-exempt countries, except for nationals with a valid Moroccan residence permit, transit passengers and spouses of Moroccan citizens. These travelers are not fully visa-exempt but also do not need a traditional visa. The AEVM allows them to board a flight to Morocco and is valid for a single entry by air. It must be obtained online in advance and presented before boarding.

Travelers who are not eligible for either the eVisa or the AEVM must apply for a sticker visa through a Moroccan embassy or consulate. These visas are generally granted for stays of up to 90 days and may allow for single or multiple entries, depending on the applicant’s documentation and travel history.

Overstaying your allowed duration, even by a few days, can result in fines or complications with future travel. Always check the latest requirements based on your nationality before departure, as visa rules may change during peak seasons or in response to health and security updates.
