Ukraine visa policy

Ukraine’s visa policy supports various travel purposes, including tourism, business, family visits, and long-term stays. Requirements depend on your nationality, how long you plan to stay, and the reason for your visit. Citizens of more than 60 countries, including those from the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, can enter Ukraine without a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. These travelers only need a valid passport, proof of onward or return travel, and travel insurance.

For travelers who do need a visa, Ukraine offers several options. The most popular is the Ukraine eVisa, available for purposes like tourism, business, medical treatment, or cultural events. It is usually issued as a single-entry visa for up to 30 days, with some multiple-entry options available.

Other visa types include long-term (D-type) visas for work, study, immigration, or family reunification. These are typically valid for 90 days and require travelers to apply for a residence permit once in Ukraine.

Transit visas are available for those passing through Ukraine on the way to a third country, allowing a short stay within a limited timeframe.

Ukraine’s visa policy can change based on international agreements or political developments. Always check with the Ukrainian government for the most up-to-date information before applying.
