Looking to visit Ireland from the Philippines? Here’s how to apply for your visa.

Applying for an Irish visa has many steps, but we’re here to clarify things for you. This guide is designed to assist Filipino citizens in understanding the Irish visa application process.

Fill me in

With this info, you'll be ready to tackle your application and one step closer to visiting Ireland’s stunning locations like Dublin's historic streets, the Cliffs of Moher, or the Giant's Causeway. Let's walk you through the essentials for your Ireland visa application.

Do Filipino citizens need an Ireland Tourist Visa?

Yes, Filipino citizens who want to travel to Ireland need to get a visa first before entering the country.

The Ireland Short-Stay (C) Visit Visa, also known as the Ireland Tourist Visa, allows Filipinos to visit the Republic of Ireland for stays that are no longer than 90 days (if you want to visit Northern Ireland, you’ll need to apply for a UK Standard Visitor Visa instead).

If you’re traveling on your Filipino passport and have a valid UK short-stay visa, you can enter Ireland without a visa thanks to the Short-Stay Waiver Programme. However, specific conditions must be met first. The Irish Immigration Service Delivery website lays out all the requirements, including the length of time one can stay in Ireland with the UK visa.

Here’s what you need to know about the Ireland Tourist Visa.

How to get an Ireland Tourist Visa from the Philippines

Fill me in

Although we currently don’t handle Irish visa applications, we can provide the information you need to apply confidently.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website and carefully fill out the visa application form. Once you’re done, print the completed form.

  2. Gather the documents.

These typically include:

  • The printed visa application form and application summary sheet.

  • A cover letter stating why you want to visit Ireland, your planned arrival and departure dates, and a commitment to follow the conditions of your visa, not become a burden to Ireland, and to leave before your visa expires.

  • Your Filipino passport and copy. The passport must be valid for at least six months after your planned departure date from Ireland. You’ll also need photocopies of previous passports.

  • 2 recent passport-size photos taken according to Ireland’s visa photo guidelines.

  • A travel itinerary including accommodation bookings with the dates of stay.

  • Proof of a travel health insurance policy valid for the duration of your stay in Ireland.

  • Bank statements for the last six months as evidence of sufficient funds to finance your entire trip.

  • Evidence of ties to the Philippines, like job payslips, a marriage certificate, or a birth certificate of your child(ren).

  • Additional documents may be required depending on the purpose of your travel.

  1. Book an appointment to submit your visa application on the VFS Philippines website.

  2. Submit your visa application and the supporting documents in person at the VFS Centre in Cebu or Manila.

  3. Wait for the application to be processed, which generally takes 6 to 8 weeks. We recommend that you apply for your visa well in advance of your trip so as not to disrupt your travel plans. You can track the status of your application of the VFS Philippines website.

  4. Collect your passport from the VFS Centre. If your application is successful, the visa will be affixed to your passport.
