Jamaican Entry Visa*

Jamaica does not offer entry visas specific to a defined purpose, for instance, a Jamaica tourist visa or a Jamaica business visa.

Instead, it offers an entry visa that covers a variety of purposes, and applicants will need to provide support for their visit.

  • Purpose: For tourism, business, and visiting friends and family.
Validity: Depends on the length and reason for the visit, with a typical maximum stay of 1 year.
  • Entries: Single or multiple entry, as deemed applicable by the Jamaican authorities.
  • Stay Period: Travelers are allowed to stay in the country for the entire duration of the visa, as indicated in their passports.
  • Extension: Extendable through the Jamaican authorities while in the country.

Unfortunately, we currently don’t offer the Jamaican Entry Visa.*

Port-of-Entry Visa*

  • Purpose: For emergency entry clearance at the airport/seaport for visitors who should have obtained an entry visa in advance but did not.
  • Validity: Granted on the day of use, only issued to leave the country.
  • Entries: Single.
  • Stay Period: Not applicable for this visa, as you’ll immediately exit the country.
  • Extension: Not extendable.

Unfortunately we currently don’t currently offer the Jamaican Port-of-Entry Visa.*

Student Visa*

  • Purpose: For foreign nationals enrolled at a Jamaican institution registered with the Ministry of Education. Must regularise status within two weeks of arrival.
  • Validity: Corresponding to the duration of the academic course enrolled in.
  • Entries: Single. If you leave and return to Jamaica, you’ll require a re-entry visa.
  • Stay Period: The entire duration of the period indicated on the visa.
  • Extension: Extendable through the Jamaican authorities while in the country.

Jamaica visa policy

The visa policy of Jamaica outlines entry requirements based on a traveler’s nationality, the purpose of their visit, and the intended duration of stay.

Citizens of visa-exempt countries, including many Commonwealth nations, CARICOM members, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, can travel to Jamaica without a visa for short stays.

However, they must present valid travel documents and satisfy immigration officers of their intent to leave before their stay expires. The permitted length of stay is typically up to 90 days, unless extended by the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA).

Nationals of non-exempt countries must obtain a Visitor (Entry) Visa before travel. This visa is issued by Jamaican embassies, high commissions, or consulates abroad and is generally granted for purposes such as tourism, business meetings, or visiting relatives.
