Remaining nationalities who do not qualify for visa-free access or the online eVisa must apply for an embassy-issued visa in advance.

  • Recent photo
  • Proof of onward or return travel

Morocco visa FAQs

What travelers commonly ask about Morocco visas.

It depends on your nationality. Citizens from roughly 65 countries—including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the European Union—are visa-exempt and can enter Morocco for tourism or business up to 90 days with just a passport. If your country isn't visa-exempt, you must check your eligibility for the online Morocco eVisa or apply for a traditional sticker visa at an embassy.

Officially, the Moroccan government requires your passport to be valid for at least 3 months beyond your date of arrival. However, commercial airlines strictly enforce a 6-month validity standard at airport check-in counters worldwide to comply with general international transit protocols. To guarantee you aren't denied boarding, verify your passport has at least 6 months of validity left before flying.

No. Both visa-exempt entry and the online eVisa are strictly limited to non-commercial travel, leisure, or attending basic corporate meetings. You're legally prohibited from taking up local employment or rendering paid services to a Moroccan entity. Engaging in unauthorized work can result in severe fines, immediate detention, or deportation. Long-term employment requires a consular-issued work visa and an approved local labor contract.

The eVisa framework operates on two distinct tracks. First, it is open directly to citizens of select countries. Second, it features a highly popular third-country visa exemption track: citizens of any visa-required nation can successfully apply for the Morocco eVisa online if they hold an active, valid residence permit or multiple-entry visa from the United States, United Kingdom, Schengen Area, Canada, Australia, or Japan.

The Morocco eVisa is strictly a single-entry document valid for 180 days from its date of issuance. This means you have a 6-month window to land in the country. Once you clear border control, you're permitted a maximum stay of up to 30 consecutive days.

Generally, the electronic visa is considered non-extendable, and you're expected to leave before your 30 days expire. In exceptional situations—such as a verified medical emergency or sudden flight grounding—you can request a short extension by presenting comprehensive justification and financial documentation directly to the local police precinct's foreign nationals unit (Bureau des Étrangers) before your initial permit lapses.

Yes, this is an absolute requirement. Even though your approved eVisa is electronically linked to your passport number within the national border control database, Moroccan immigration officers must physically inspect, stamp, and log a paper copy at your point of entry. Digital copies on smartphones, tablet screens, or photo screenshots are strictly rejected as primary entry clearance by border security.

Yes. There are no age exemptions for this visa; every traveler, including infants, must have their own individual visa. For minors, you must upload a birth certificate copy and, if traveling alone or with only one parent, an official parental authorization letter signed by the non-traveling parent(s).

Once your Morocco eVisa application is approved, you’ll receive an email with a PDF. You must print a physical paper copy to present to your airline at check-in and to border security officers upon arrival, as digital formats on a smartphone are strictly not accepted.

The Morocco eVisa is usually processed quickly. With iVisa, you can get your Morocco eVisa in as little as 2 days (depending on your application and chosen delivery speed). We recommend applying at least a week before your departure date to account for any unexpected government delays.

If denied, you will receive a notification via email. The most common reason for denial is blurry passport scans. You can usually re-apply by submitting a completely new application with corrected information.

iVisa offers denial protection. Our experts manually review your application before submission to prevent these common issues.
