The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has launched a limited-time promotion offering travelers aged 30 and under a $20 discount on new TSA PreCheck memberships.
According to a press release posted on the TSA website on April 29, 2026, the "$20 Take Off" promotion runs from May 1 to May 31, 2026, timed to coincide with the start of summer travel and graduation season.
With the discount, the cost of a five-year TSA PreCheck membership drops to between $56.75 and $65, depending on the enrollment provider.
Ha Nguyen McNeill, TSA Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator, said:
"As young adults embark on new adventures – whether it's travel for school, work, or fun – TSA PreCheck offers a quicker and smoother airport security experience. With this special discount, we're empowering the next generation of travelers to make TSA PreCheck a part of their journey."
How to enroll
The offer is available through TSA PreCheck's three authorized enrollment providers: CLEAR, IDEMIA, and Telos. Travelers can enroll at any of the 1,300 TSA PreCheck locations nationwide, including retail stores in local communities, not just airports.
The application process begins online with an authorized provider. Applicants then complete the process in person and typically receive their Known Traveler Number within three to five days for use when booking flights.
Benefits of TSA PreCheck
TSA PreCheck members enjoy a streamlined airport security experience. Ninety-nine percent of enrolled passengers wait less than 10 minutes at checkpoints. Members can keep electronics and 3-1-1 compliant liquids in their bags and leave on belts and light jackets.
TSA PreCheck Touchless ID, which is free for members, is now available with six airlines at 65 airports, allowing faster identity verification in dedicated lanes. Children traveling with enrolled family members can use TSA PreCheck for free.
