Ambassador Thangal said:

"The Government of India has decided to grant gratis visas up to 30 days to Kazakh nationals travelling for tourism, medical treatment and accompanying persons."

The initiative aims to promote bilateral tourism and strengthen people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

Kazakh citizens can apply for the free visa through online applications or by submitting documents in person at the Embassy of India.

Growing tourism ties

The Ambassador noted that tourism exchanges between the two countries continue to expand. An estimated 250,000 Indian citizens visited Kazakhstan in 2025.

India and Kazakhstan maintain a strategic partnership, with cooperation across multilateral platforms including the SCO, BRICS, CICA, the United Nations, and the India-Central Asia Dialogue.
