Trinidad and Tobago visa requirements
Trinidad and Tobago lets most visitors in without a visa, but since March 17, 2026, it asks every passenger for something else: the Online Arrival/Departure Card, the digital replacement for the paper immigration and customs forms that used to be handed out on the plane. It combines the immigration arrival form and the customs declaration into one submission, and it applies to visitors and returning nationals alike.
The detail most travellers miss is that a round trip needs two submissions — one for arrival and a separate one for departure, each with its own QR-code receipt.
Start your application and iVisa will confirm exactly which Trinidad and Tobago travel document you need based on your nationality and trip, then prepare, review, and file it for you.

Do I need a visa for Trinidad and Tobago?
It depends on your nationality — citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, most of the EU and the CARICOM countries visit without a visa. What every passenger does need, whatever their nationality, is the Online Arrival/Departure Card, filed before travelling.
What is the Trinidad and Tobago Online Arrival Card?
The digital replacement for the paper immigration and customs forms, mandatory since March 17, 2026. One submission covers the immigration arrival form and the customs declaration, and it produces a QR-code receipt you present to officials. It is not a visa and it grants no stay — the immigration officer decides how long you may remain.
How many forms do I need for a round trip?
Two. The arrival card and the departure card are separate submissions with separate QR-code receipts, and the government sends no reminder about the second one. This is the single most common mistake travellers make with the new system.
When can I submit the form?
The portal opens 72 hours before your arrival or departure and not a moment earlier, so it cannot be completed weeks ahead. Travellers who try to plan further out often conclude the site is broken.
Do children need their own arrival card?
No. Children under 18 are included on the head of family's submission, along with a spouse, up to 10 family members alongside the head of family, so 11 travellers in all. Larger parties have to be split across more than one submission.
What format does the passport image have to be?
The portal accepts .jpg, .jpeg and .png only. The HEIC photos iPhones take by default and PDF scans are both rejected with a bare "Invalid file type" message, which is a common reason travellers get stuck.
Do I have to create an account?
No. The government portal opens straight into the form with no login. The confirmation email carries a Travel Code, and you are asked for it again when you file the departure card, to link it to your arrival record — so a typo in your email address leaves you with no receipt and no way to correct it.
