Learn More: B1/B2 Visa Renewal

DOCUMENT OVERVIEW
The US B1/B2 Visa Renewal process is for visitors to the US who already have a US B1/B2 (Business/Tourism) visa and would like to renew it by mail. If you currently have, or had, one of these visas, and you meet all the required specifications, your visa may be eligible for renewal.

WHO CAN ENTER THE UNITED STATES WITH THIS DOCUMENT?
B1/B2 visa holders can enter the US with this document. Application criteria for the B1/B2 Visa Renewal requires the applicant to have an existing B1/B2 visa, or to have held one in the past four years. The applicant is also required to present a valid passport with the existing, or expired, associated B1/B2 visa included.

START THE B1/B2 VISA RENEWAL
Process the renewal by filling in the non-immigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form. To do so, enter basic information on the form, and then answer the interview waiver questions, which will confirm your eligibility to renew the visa. Once you’ve finished the questionnaire, proceed to the payment page and then submit the application.

Once you’ve completed the online process, we’ll let you know whether you’re required to attend in person or if you can send copies of your documentation.

CHECK THE STATUS
Once the visa assessment process is complete, your passport and supporting documents will be returned to your chosen delivery address. You can also choose to collect the documents once they are ready. It usually takes between 6 - 10 weeks for all documents to be returned. If you qualify for the interview waiver, your returned passport will contain your visa.

Required Documents to Apply
  • Applicant Photo

Important Instructions
  • If you qualify for the Interview Waiver you wont need to appear for a visa interview.

  • Applicants only need to drop the required documents at the Drop-Off Location we will indicate. In some cases, applicants do not need to go in person to leave their documents.

  • All required documents will be provided by iVisa when your order is completed. You will need to collect any additional documents (not mandatory) and one photograph taken within the last six months (mandatory) according to the consulate guidelines.

  • The process may take 6 to 10 weeks until your passport is ready with your new stamped visa.

  • You will be able to choose the Pick-up Location of your passport.

  • If there is any irregularity regarding your documents or application, the consulate probably will ask you to schedule a regular appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

The United States government issues non-immigrant B category visas to foreign travelers seeking temporary entry to the US. The two types of B visas include the B1 visa, issued for business purposes, and the B2 visa, issued for tourism or non-business purposes. In practice, the two visa categories are combined together and issued as a "B1/B2 visa", valid for a temporary visit for business, pleasure or a combination of the two. The US B1/B2 Visa Renewal is the process to renew this visa, provided that you meet certain requirements first (including having a valid B1/B2 Visa). Therefore, it is possible to renew the B1/B2 visa online, but only if you’re eligible.
It depends on your nationality. If your country is not named under the US visa-waiver program, you’ll have to apply for a US paper visa. The B1/B2 Visa is just one type of visa, and there are others available depending on your reason for visiting the US.
Before applying, you must meet this criteria:
  • You have or had a B1/B2 Visa you wish to renew.
  • This visa is still valid or expired within the last 48 months.
  • This visa was valid for at least 5 years.
  • You were 14 years of age or older when the previous visa was issued.
  • You have the passport containing the existing/expired visa in your possession, OR
  • You have passports covering the entire period of time since you received the last visa. (You are required to submit your current passport as well as the passport with the most recent U.S. visa. You are not eligible for the interview waiver if you have lost the passport that had your valid or expired U.S. visa).
  • You have not been refused a U.S. visa in the last twelve months.
  • You have never stayed in the U.S. longer than 6 months on a B1/B2 visa (even if the Department of Homeland Security approved the extension of stay).
  • You have never been arrested for, or convicted of, any offence or crime, even if subject to a pardon.
  • The name, date of birth, and gender shown on your last visa don’t need to be changed.
If you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19, you should bring your vaccine certificate as it is accepted in the US, although it’s not obligatory. Depending on your country of origin, you may be required to present the negative results of a COVID-19 PCR test.
Children under the age of 14 may be eligible to apply for a tourist visa (B1/B2) by mail through the Interview Waiver Program if they answer YES to EACH of the following conditions:
  • The parent has a B1/B2 visa, valid for 10 years.
  • The father or mother's visa is without special annotations.
  • The visa has never been revoked, canceled, lost, damaged, or stolen.
  • The parent’s visa has never been revoked, canceled, lost, damaged, or stolen.
  • The father/mother is a citizen or legal resident of the visa request country.
  • Neither the parents nor the child have resided illegally in the United States nor have they violated any laws in the United States.
No, we cannot guarantee that you will not have to attend an interview. In the event that you do have to attend an in-person interview, you will receive instructions about how to prepare for it.
Quarantine requirements differ across the USA. Current public health guidance recommends that inbound travelers remain in quarantine for at least 7 to 10 days after arriving in the US. It’s also recommended that travelers take a PCR test upon arrival. Please note that each state has different quarantine rules, so check the local restrictions upon arrival in your destination. Some states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii) have implemented a mandatory quarantine for international travelers.

The United States of America is one of the favorite destinations for most travelers around the world. The USA has a special charm and so much variety within its 50 states that you will never get bored here. From spectacular natural landscapes to the most famous landmarks in the world, the United States offers all you need in a destination. As the territory is so extensive, it will take you a few trips to actually get to know most of the regions in this country. Most travelers visit the East Coast, the Southwest, or go to Hawaii and Alaska. We know you will find the perfect place in the US to spend your holiday, and you may need a B1/B2 Visa Renewal on that case. If your nationality is eligible to apply for this type of visa, go for it now! Don’t leave it to the last minute. We recommend starting your trip with the Grand Canyon, one of the most extraordinary natural views on this side of America. The dramatic cliffs and ledges formed by the Colorado River provide the most fascinating views for any hiker up for an adventure. The South Rim is the most popular section of Grand Canyon, which means you will find lots of tourists enjoying the hiking trails, using the viewpoints and platforms. Don’t miss the Bright Angel Trail. Continue with the Skywalk, a glass bridge on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Head to Eagle Point for this experience, and it will only take you a full day from Las Vegas. The North Rim has other views that are less visited. During November and May, snow and winter conditions prevent visitors from entering this national park. Once you start the B1/B2 Visa Renewal, you can visit the US for tourism reasons and explore the Grand Canyon. iVisa.com is the perfect partner for this online procedure. Niagara Falls is another natural spot you can’t miss. Located in the Canada-US border, these waterfalls take water from Lake Erie into Lake Ontario over a massive drop. Niagara Falls is divided into three parts, explore the Horseshoe Falls with a 187-feet drop, then you have the American Falls with a drop of 89 feet, and finally, the Bridal Veil Falls that only has a 78-feet drop. Although you can have good views from both sides, we recommend visiting both borders for a full experience. Visit during the summertime so you can enjoy the nearby gardens and warm weather. Remember that you can have the B1/B2 Visa Renewal with iVisa.com. It’s so simple to have your visa with us and enter the US to enjoy Niagara Falls. One of the most iconic landmarks in the world is the Statue of Liberty in New York. As the name says, it represents freedom, and it can be seen from several points of the city. Especially if you go to Battery Park or take a ferry. Review the options for your visit as you can access different sections of the statue. You can opt to check the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, another relevant place for locals. Travel now to the US with the B1/B2 Visa Renewal and visit the most incredible places in the world. The process is simple with iVisa.com. The White House is where the President of the United States lives and a top tourist attraction in Washington. Since George Washington, all US presidents have lived here and left their own mark. Check the Lafayette Park on the north side to take a picture facing the White House. The building itself is gorgeous and dates back to 1792. In 1814, the British Army burn it down, and it was rebuilt in 1818. Although you don’t need to pay any fees to visit the White House, you must reserve a ticket to have a guided tour. Check the process to obtain the B1/B2 Visa Renewal and start thinking about your next trip to the US with iVisa.com. We have all the tools you need for your journey. We must mention Walt Disney World Resort or the happiest place on earth. This amusement park in Orlando is the perfect place to take your whole family for a holiday vacation. Since 1971, Disney World has attracted children and adults that continue to be fascinated by all the characters and rides. Aside from the four main parks, you have water parks (usually open during the summer), Downtown Disney with stores and theatres, and much more. Explore the hotels, restaurants, and all the services Disney can offer you. Don’t worry about anything! Only go for the B1/B2 Visa Renewal with iVisa.com. After that, you can plan your whole trip to Disney World. The B1/B2 Visa Renewal allows you to keep traveling to the US. You’re eligible to apply for a B1/B2 Visa Renewal only if you already have the B1/B2 Visa. Also, the US Government hasn’t denied a visa application from you. You need to renew for a B1/B2 Visa with multiple entries and a validity of 5 to 10 years, and you need to be in your home country, not in the US. Remember that US Immigration Services could impose more guidelines at any moment. Make sure to check them all with iVisa.com. In order to start the process, you need your passport with a validity of six months after your intended leave from the US, any previous passport with a US visa in them, two passport photos, the Form DS-160, payment of the fee, and any other document the B1/B2 Visa Renewal procedures ask for. Once you’re ready to start, you can complete the online form with personal details, follow iVisa.com instructions, pay for the services, and your new visa will arrive soon. The B1/B2 Visa allows a tourist or business visa to the United States. Make sure to renew it as soon as it gets expired so you can continue to have the chance to visit the US.
