- Who it's for
- Visa-required travelers going to Guinea for tourism. The government runs separate categories for transit, cross-border movement, long stays and diplomatic travel, each with its own application.
- How it works on arrival
- Approval gives you an Entry Visa Letter by email rather than a finished visa. You exchange it for a physical stamped visa at the arrival counter, where your photo and fingerprints are captured in person.
- Where it's valid
- The biometric enrollment counter sits at Conakry's Gbessia International Airport. The government does not list land border posts, so acceptance at land crossings is not confirmed.
- Health requirement
- A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required. It is the one document, apart from the passport, that every Guinea visa category asks for.
- Good to know
- Every traveler, including infants, needs an individual eVisa. Nothing can be amended once the application is approved, and the fee is not refunded, including when an application is refused.
- Validity
- Valid for 5 years
- Entry
- Multiple entry
- Length of stay
- Stay up to 90 days per entry
- Processing time
- Get it in as fast as 4 days

I received timely advice when I had questions via their online chat option. The process for applying was extremely easy and clear. Once the documents were submitted and corrected, the response was prompt. Of course, the rush service is costly but it served my needs very well given my short time-frame. I have already recommended this service to a colleague.
The visa demand was handled in short time and questions occurred became adressed and handled quickly. Also return question from my side became answered promptly.
It was a great experience except for the time consuming during the application process. Thanks
Outstanding job, received my visa in less than 24 hours. Process was very user friendly, easy to upload documents and photos and the cost was very reasonable. I definitely plan on using them for future travel.
I can NOT give enough STARS!! This organization was FANTASTIC!! Thank you for everything. Thank you for your customer service, thank you for your promptness and overall very pleased and would recommend iVisa 1000%! They helped my daughter get her visa quickly when another company took our money without any word of when we would get a visa. iVisa has an app you can use. The process is smooth and quick! Thank you sooo much! You make this momma's heart so happy and relieved a lot of stress!
Paid for a super fast service and waited for a whole week and a half, on top of that they failed to get the evisa out I had to go to the Guinea embassy and make enquiries and get it released myself, I’ve used ivisa before and had no problems but this time around I’m so disappointed and regret even wasting money with them, if I could give 0 stars I would
Guinea visa FAQs
Quick answers to the most common questions about the Guinea eVisa.
Still have questions?
Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.
Which countries are visa-exempt for Guinea?
Citizens of ECOWAS member states (such as Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Sierra Leone) and citizens of Singapore and Egypt can enter Guinea visa-free. Most other nationalities, including those from the US, UK, and EU, must obtain an eVisa or a consular visa before traveling.
Do US and Canadian citizens get a special type of Guinea eVisa?
Yes. Unlike most nationalities who receive a 90-day single-entry visa, citizens of the United States and Canada are eligible for a 5-year multiple-entry visa through the eVisa portal. This is a reciprocal agreement that significantly facilitates long-term travel and business between these nations.
Is a yellow fever certificate mandatory for the Guinea eVisa application?
Yes. Guinea has strict medical entry requirements. You must upload a scanned copy of your yellow fever vaccination certificate during the online application process. You are also required to carry the original yellow card to present to health officials upon arrival at the airport.
Can I enter Guinea by land with an eVisa?
The Guinea eVisa is primarily designed for arrival at Gbessia International Airport (CKY) in Conakry, where the biometric enrollment infrastructure is located. If you plan to enter via a land border from a neighboring country, you should check with the nearest Guinean embassy, as land border posts may not always accept the eVisa.
How long is the Guinea eVisa valid for use?
It depends on the variant. The standard tourist eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance, and you must enter Guinea within that window. US and Canadian citizens are issued a 5-year multiple-entry eVisa under a reciprocal arrangement; the 5 years are the visa's validity, not a permitted stay. In every case the immigration officer sets your actual stay when you arrive.
Do I need a visa to transit in Guinea?
If you're remaining in the international transit area of the airport and not clearing immigration, a visa isn't required. However, if you plan to leave the airport or transit through Guinea by land, you must obtain a Transit eVisa, which is valid for up to 3 days.
Do children/minors need their own Guinea eVisa?
Yes. Every traveler, including infants and minors, must have their own individual eVisa. For minors traveling without both parents, you must present a notarized "autorisation parentale" (parental authorization letter) at the border.
How will I receive the Guinea eVisa?
Once your Guinea eVisa application is approved, you’ll receive an email with a PDF. We recommend printing a physical copy to present to border officials at the port of entry. You should also keep a digital backup on your phone.
How long does the Guinea eVisa processing take?
The Guinea eVisa is usually processed quickly. With iVisa, you choose your processing speed at checkout, and the option you pick is shown with its delivery time before you pay. We recommend applying at least 9 days before your departure date to account for any unexpected government delays.
What happens if my Guinea eVisa application is denied?
If denied, you will receive a notification via email. The most common reasons for denial are blurry photos, missing yellow fever certificates, or failing to remove glasses in your passport photo. You can usually re-apply by submitting a completely new application with corrected information. iVisa offers denial protection. Our experts manually review your application before submission to prevent these common issues.
