Omani visa policy for Irish citizens

Irish citizens do not need a visa to visit Oman for short stays of up to 14 days, as Oman grants visa-free entry for eligible visitors. However, travelers staying longer than 14 days must obtain an approved Oman eVisa before departure.

iVisa offers two entry documents for Irish travelers:

  • Oman eVisa: A mandatory electronic visa for Irish citizens traveling to Oman for stays longer than 14 days of for travel purposes not covered by visa-free entry. It must be approved before departure and typically allows a stay of up to 30 days, depending on the visa issued.

  • Oman Visa for GCC Residents: A special electronic visa option available to Irish nationals who hold a valid residence permit from an eligible GCC country (such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, of Bahrain). This visa allows short-term entry to Oman under GCC residency eligibility rules.

General Oman entry requirements for Irish travelers are:

  • A Ireland passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay
  • Valid GCC residence permit (required if applying under the GCC Resident category)
  • Confirmed onward or return travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay (if requested)
