Polish visa policy for Israeli citizens

Israeli citizens do not currently need a visa to visit Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits. However, starting in late 2026, travelers from Israel will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before entering Poland or other Schengen Area countries.

Israeli travelers will need one Poland entry document:

  • ETIAS for Poland: A mandatory online travel authorization for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen Area. Once implemented, it will allow Israeli citizens to enter Poland for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or transit.

General Poland entry requirements for Israeli travelers are:

  • Israeli passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Valid travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR
  • Other supporting documents, depending on purpose/situation (e.g., business contact details or conference invitation)

Frequently asked questions about getting the Poland visa with a Israel passport

No. Israeli citizens can enter Poland and the Schengen Area visa-free for tourism or business for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This is a cumulative limit across all Schengen countries.

While Israelis remain visa-exempt, starting in late 2026, they'll be required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before departure. This is a mandatory electronic visa waiver applied for online. It's valid for three years and is electronically linked to your passport; without it, you'll be denied boarding.

Under a specific bilateral agreement between Poland and Israel, it's possible in justified cases to apply for an extension of your visa-free stay for an additional 90 days. You must submit this application to the local Voivodeship Office (UrzÄ…d WojewĂłdzki) before your initial 90-day period expires. This extension is valid only for the territory of Poland and does not grant additional time in other Schengen countries.

If you plan to stay beyond 90 days for work, study, or family reasons and don't qualify for a visa-free extension, you must apply for a National Visa (D-type) at the Polish Embassy in Tel Aviv before your trip. This visa is valid for up to one year. Alternatively, if you're already in Poland, you can apply for a temporary residence permit (karta pobytu).

No. Israeli citizens cannot legally work in Poland on a visa-free entry alone. To be employed, you must have a valid work permit (issued to your employer) and a corresponding National Visa (D-type) for work purposes or a temporary residence and work permit issued by the Polish authorities.
