  • 📄 Supporting documents: These may include proof of travel (flight or accommodation), an invitation letter, or onward travel details, depending on your visa type

Tourist Visa (single, double, and multiple entry)*

The Tourist Visa is one of the most commonly used Zambia visas. It’s ideal for sightseeing, safaris, or visiting friends and family. It comes in three options:
  • Single-entry visa – Valid for one entry and up to 90 days

Zambia visa policy

Zambia’s visa policy is based on your nationality, reason for travel, and how long you plan to stay. Some travelers can enter visa-free, while others are eligible for a visa on arrival or must apply in advance through the Zambia eVisa system.

Citizens of over 60 countries, including South Africa, Singapore, and Kenya, can visit Zambia without a visa for up to 90 days for tourism or 30 days for business. Travelers from many other countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and most EU nations, can apply for an eVisa or receive a visa on arrival at designated entry points.

Zambia offers a range of visa types, including single, double, and multiple-entry tourist visas, business visas, transit visas, and more specialized options like volunteer, research, and missionary visas. The KAZA UniVisa is also available for eligible nationalities, allowing seamless travel between Zambia and Zimbabwe with day trips to Botswana.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, always check with the Zambian government before you apply.

FAQs

It depends on the entry option you choose. Single-entry visas are typically valid for 90 days, double-entry covers two visits within a short window, and multiple-entry can be valid for up to three years for select nationalities.

Processing usually takes at least 5 working days for travelers from countries requiring pre-travel visas. If you're eligible for a visa-on-arrival, it's up to 3 working days. You’ll see expedited options at checkout tailored to your needs.

Each visit can last up to 90 days. Exact allowances depend on your visa type: single-entry allows one trip, while double-entry and multiple-entry provide more flexibility.

You’ll need a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, a passport-style photo or selfie, and supporting documents such as hotel bookings, return tickets, invitation letters, or proof of financial means.

No. If you need a visa in advance, you must apply online beforehand. Travelers from eligible countries may qualify for a visa-on-arrival instead.

Yes. Extensions are possible through Zambia’s eServices portal. You must apply before your current visa expires. Extensions vary by visa type.

Overstaying can lead to fines, deportation, or future travel restrictions. It’s best to apply for an extension or leave before your visa expires.

A transit visa is required if you’re transiting by land and leaving the airport. Air travelers not leaving the terminal usually don’t need one.

The KAZA UniVisa lets you visit Zambia and Zimbabwe with one visa, including a one-day transit into Botswana. It’s valid for 30 days and ideal for multi-country trips.

Our iVisa team reviews your application and submits it via Zambia’s portal. Once approved, we email your visa document directly to you. You can download the iVisa app to apply, track, and manage your passport and visa on the go.
