If you want to travel around Bangladesh, you should add Govinda Temple in Puthia to your itinerary. This temple is one of the most amazing monuments of Puthia village. It is located inside the palace, on the left side of the inner courtyard.

It is believed to have been built between 1823 and 1895 by a group of maharanis from the Puthia estates. This is a large structure with a very intricate design, composed of terracotta. You can see in each of the terracotta panels depicting love scenes between Radha and Krishna. If you want to learn more about the history of these monuments and the palace in general, you must hire the service of a tour guide. They know a lot about the history and culture of the place, and this will allow you to get even more involved with the traditions of the place.

While this place is a tourist destination, the temple currently houses a Krishna shrine and is also visited by the local population. If you are already in the place, we recommend you to visit the other temples, Govinda, Gopala, and Anika. These temples have been renovated and attract hundreds of visitors.
