Purpose: The Bermuda Arrival Card is a mandatory digital form for all non-residents to provide required immigration, customs, and statistical information to the Bermuda Tourism Authority and Department of Immigration.
When to apply: It’s recommended to complete the form online anytime before departure, ideally within 48 hours of travel.
Duration and extensions: The card itself doesn't grant a stay; visitors are typically granted entry for up to 90 days (extendable to 180 days) by immigration officials at the port of entry. Extensions must be requested in person at the Department of Immigration in Hamilton.
Entries: A new Arrival Card is required for every entry into Bermuda.
Ports of entry: Mandatory for all non-residents arriving by air at L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) or by private yacht at designated customs docks. Cruise ship passengers are currently exempt.
Delivery format: Upon successful submission, a PDF confirmation is sent via email. Travelers must present a digital or printed copy of this confirmation to immigration officers upon arrival.
Bermuda doesn't issue its own visitor visas. Instead, nationals from visa-required countries must possess a valid Multiple Re-entry Visa (MRV) for the USA, Canada, or the UK. This MRV must be valid for at least 45 days beyond the intended departure date from Bermuda. It’s for tourists and business travelers who'd otherwise require a visa to enter those gateway countries.
*We currently don’t offer this visa.
This is for foreign professionals relocating to the island for long-term employment where no qualified local citizen or permanent resident is available to fill the role. It is valid for a period of 1 to 5 years and can be renewed upon administrative review. You must obtain this before traveling via a comprehensive application submitted by your hiring organization.
*We currently don’t offer this permit.
This is for foreign nationals seeking temporary employment, specialized technical service, or consulting work with a local business or registered charity in Bermuda. It is a single or multiple-entry permit valid for a fixed duration of up to 6 months. You must obtain this before traveling through an application managed by a local Bermudian corporate sponsor.
*We currently don’t offer this permit.
This is for non-Bermudians—including former digital nomad certificate holders or partners of legal residents—who wish to live on the island long-term without engaging in local employment. It is valid for up to 5 years and must be renewed periodically, depending on the approved tier. You must obtain this before your current legal status expires by submitting proof of financial independence to the Ministry of Economy and Labor.
*We currently don’t offer this certificate.
Most foreign nationals, including citizens of the US, Canada, and the UK, don't require a visa for traveling to Bermuda for tourism or business for a maximum of 180 days within any 12-month period.
If you're a citizen of a country that requires a visa to enter Bermuda, Bermuda cannot issue you a standalone visa. Instead, you must possess a valid Multi Re-entry Visa (MRV) from the US, UK, or Canada. Both your international passport and your US, UK, or Canadian MRV must be valid for at least 45 days beyond your scheduled departure date from Bermuda
All non-resident travelers entering Bermuda by air or private yacht are required to complete a mandatory Bermuda Arrival Card before arrival.
General Bermuda entry requirements are:
Passport valid for at least 45 days beyond the intended date of departure
Travel details (such as return flight information and accommodation address)
Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of stay
Requirements may vary depending on nationality and travel purpose.
