Important Instructions

Chad is yet another African country which does not yet have developed tourism, but tourists are still seeking adventure there. The state has known political unrest and instability, but that seems to be changing. While there are some issues in some regions, as long as you are careful and follow the news while you are there, your trip should be incident free. After all, Chad is the home of 44 large species of animals and hundreds of bird species. It can be a fascinating place. Not to mention that Chad has one of the most inaccessible parts of the Sahara desert. It is challenging to get there, but you will not regret it.

Before you start planning your trip to Chad, you should make inquiries about your visa. Only the citizens of 14 countries can enter Chad without a visa and stay there for up to 90 days. Visas on arrival are available, but just for people who are given an Entry Authorization letter issued by the authorities of Chad before departure. Only the citizens of Benin can obtain a visa on arrival for Chad without such an authorization letter. As for the rest of the nationalities, they are all required to obtain a visa for Chad before departure. To know whether or not you do need one, you can use iVisa’s Visa Checker. All you have to do is choose your country of origin from the drag-down menu and select Chad as your destination. If you do not need a visa, you can be on your way. If, however, you find out the opposite, you will be given a list of the embassies you can use to apply.

iVisa cannot process Chad visa applications at the moment because electronic visas are not available. We do, however, like to help in any way we can, which is why we put at your disposal our support service. It is available 24/7 and is completely free of charge.

The next thing you need to be concerned with is whether or not you meet the requirements for a visa for Chad. The best thing you could do is to call the embassy or the diplomatic mission you use to apply for your visa. The information you find on the internet might be incomplete, which is why you should use it as a reference only. We can, however, tell you that you need a valid passport that maintains its valid status for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Chad.

Another thing you should know is that police registration is mandatory for all travelers within 72 hours since arrival. Failure to do so ends up with you paying up a fine.

Although we cannot help you get your visa for Chad, it is our dearest hope that the information you read above is helpful. The list of embassies should be enough for you to get started. We hope that the process runs as smooth as possible. Once Chad becomes a supported country on iVisa, we will be more than happy to take the hassle away.
