If you're a Ghanaian passport holder planning a trip to China for sightseeing, visiting family, or cultural travel, you’ll need to apply for a China Tourist Visa (L visa) before entering the country.

Do Ghanaian citizens need a China Tourist Visa?

Yes. Ghanaian citizens are required to obtain a tourist visa to enter mainland China. This visa allows travel for tourism and other non-work-related purposes and must be obtained before arrival.

Most China Tourist Visas are issued for single-entry, with a maximum stay of 30 days per entry, though longer durations and multiple entries may be granted at the discretion of the visa officer.

✅ Completed visa application form (submitted online and printed).

✅ Recent passport photo attached to the printed form.

✅ Flight booking confirmations (round trip) and proof of hotel reservations.

✅ Invitation letter issued by a Chinese tourism unit or individual (if applicable), along with their ID or residence permit.

✅ Bank statements from the last four months, stamped and signed by the bank.

✅ Photocopies of any previous Chinese visas or Chinese passports (if applicable).

How to apply for the China Tourist Visa from Ghana

We do not currently process China Tourist Visa applications on our platform. Ghanaian citizens must begin their application by completing the China Online Visa Application (COVA) form. Once completed, you must print the form and submit it, along with all required documents and the visa fee, at the Chinese Visa Application Center (CVAC) in Accra.
