As far as the requirements go, you need a valid passport that remains as such for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Cuba, and travel insurance. But then again, these are the requirements for all Tourist cards, no matter which method you use to get one. Of course, once you arrive in Cuba, you must also present a flight itinerary but that is another issue.

One of the conditions to obtain a Cuba visa at LAX is to travel with Alaska Airlines. They have a straight flight to Havana, and you can get the visa at the check-in counter. Just keep in mind that online check-ins is not possible for Cuba flights, and this one is no different. As for the cost, the Cuba visa at LAX costs $100. The visas you can get online are pretty much at the same price.

What if I do not fly with Alaska Airlines?

If you use another airline to fly from LAX to Havana, you need to apply online for a visa. Even so, the process is not complicated and you can use the services provided by iVisa. All you need to do is fill in a form. The requirements are the same as for the Cuba visa from LAX. The application form should not take you more than 10 minutes to complete, and you do not have to upload any documents. Plus, if you need some help, iVisa provides 24/7 support service. When it comes to price, it is you who determines the exact amount that you will pay. That is because iVisa provides three processing time, and the cost depends on your selection. Here are your options:

  • Standard processing – your application will be processed and your Tourist card delivered in 3 to 5 business days. This option costs $110.
  • Rush processing – your Tourist card will arrive within 1 to 3 business days, and the fee is $130.
  • Super Rush processing – you will have your Cuba Tourist card in 1 business day, and you will be charged $150.

All in all, while you have the option of getting a Cuba visa at LAX, you also have the option of applying online in case you do not want to travel with Alaska Airlines. At the end of the day, the documents provide the same terms. You get to stay in Cuba for 30 days, you can extend it once for another 30 days, and you have a single entry. The only difference is how and where you apply for the Tourist Card.
