Learn More: Visitor Visa
Required Documents to Apply
The smallest nation in Africa, Gambia has an incredibly short coastline along the North Atlantic Ocean. But don't be fooled by its size, as it offers many attractions for tourists. Visit the Abuko Nature Reserve, home to monkeys, West Nile Crocodiles, and hundreds of birds species. If you have the guts, Gambia even gives you the opportunity to touch crocodiles - not something you see every day! Additionally, the Gambia River National Park and Sanyang Beach are some of the most gorgeous spots to walk, hike, or relax.
Before packing your bags for Gambia, you need to know a little bit about its visa policy to cross the border safely and hassle-free. There are multiple categories of travelers: first, there are the 104 visa-exempt countries and territories whose citizens can visit Gambia visa-free for up to 90 days; second, the citizens of 17 different states can enter the country without a visa, but they need entry clearance from Gambian Immigration before departure; the third category consists of 4 nationalities who are eligible for a visa on arrival: France, Portugal, Spain, and the United States.
The rest of the world is required either to get a visa at the nearest Gambian embassy, or obtain a visa and border clearance at Gambian Immigration. All travelers who are required to get clearance can avoid this step if they travel by charter flight.
Unfortunately, iVisa does not currently process Gambia visa applications since electronic visas are not yet available. However, we still like to help any and all travelers, which is why we offer a free 24/7 support service.
If you need to visit the Gambian embassy to apply for your visa in-person, you need to research the requirements. Although can do that online, we recommend that you contact the embassy itself since they will provide the most reliable info. Websites are not always up-to-date, leading potentially to critical errors in the application process. Just give the embassy a call to find out more information. Nevertheless, what iVisa can tell you is that you'll need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of arrival in Gambia. For further information, contact the nearest embassy of Gambia.
While we cannot help you more with your Gambia visa application, we hope that the above information above clarifies some things for you. Hopefully, Gambia will adopt the electronic visa system in the future, and when that happens, we will offer a safe, reliable, and fast visa processing service.
