Check your visa status on the Indian government website

1.Go to the India Visa Application Portal.

2. Select the type of application: “For regular/paper visa by Indian mission/post” or “For eVisa by Bureau of Immigration.”

3. Scroll down and select “Check Your Visa Status.”

4. Enter your Application ID (found in your application confirmation) and passport number.

5. Enter the security code displayed.

6. Click “Check Status” for paper visas or “Advanced search for eVisa only” for eVisas.

• For 1-year or 5-year visas: Your visa validity starts from the date of issue. You can enter India from this date onward, and the visa will specify your maximum duration per visit.

• For 30- and 60-day visas: The validity period starts from your actual entry date into India, not the date of issue. However, you’ll need to enter India before the “expiry date” on the visa.

Example: If you’re issued a 30-day visa with an expiry date of June 1, 2025, and you enter India on May 20, 2025, you can stay until June 19, 2025.
