Libya is a country in North Africa that is 90% desert or semi-desert. There is not much tourist activity in Libya, but some people still want to satisfy their curiosity. While there may not be many attractions, you can find in Libya some of the most unspoiled Roman ruins in the Mediterranean. Leptis Magna was a powerful Roman city, and its ruins can be seen just 80 miles east from Tripoli. Another attraction that you may find fascinating is the archaeological site of Cyrene. It was a Greek settlement that is now located in a village called Shahhat. It is said that the first love symbol was found there.
Before taking a trip to Libya, you need to make sure that you have the proper documentation. Libya is now known for its strict visa policy, and very few countries are visa-exempt. Only nationals of Algeria, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey can enter the country and stay without a visa. However, the citizens of Jordan are granted a 30-day stay, while the nationals of Turkey are allowed to remain in Libya up to 3 months. All the other travelers in the world are required to visit the nearest diplomatic mission of Libya and apply for a visa. Note that Libya’s visa policy includes some nationalities that are banned from entering the country.
Business visas for Libya can be obtained, but the process is tedious and sometimes delays can last for months. To get a Libya business visa, you must have an invitation letter from a company that operates in Libya or sponsorship. If you plan to do business in this country, you need to plan ahead of time so that you have time to wait for your visa.
At the moment, iVisa cannot help you get you Libya business visa or any other type of visa for Libya. We do, however, have the ability to give you some information to get the process started. Our support service is available 24/7, and it is entirely free of charge. At the same time, iVisa’s Visa Checker can give you a list of the nearest embassies. Just pick your nationality and add Libya as your destination. Simple as that.
Before going to the embassy, you need to make sure that you are up to date with the requirements. You can find some information online, but our advice is to not put your trust on every piece of information you see on the internet. Use it as a reference only. For more reliable information, you should contact the Libyan diplomatic mission. Even so, we can tell you that a Libyan visa application requires you to have a valid passport that does not expire for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in the country. Also, the validity of the passport can change. For example, Jordanians need a 5-year passport.
We regret that we cannot help ease the Libya visa application for you, but we hope that you find the information above useful.
