iVisa.com Recommends

Visiting Malawi? You must go and travel around Liwonde National Park. Liwonde is the closest thing to a traditional park in Malawi. To the west, the Shire River has hippos and crocodiles and is a favorite haunt of elephants. Waterbuck are also common near the water, as are zebras. This tour has night drives that allow you to observe different species than in the morning, such as spotted genets, bumblebees, bush hares, side-striped jackals, and spotted hyenas. For this reason, we recommend staying at least two days during your visit. One of them for the morning/afternoon tour and the other day for the evening tour. An interesting fact about Liwonde National Park is that it is home to endangered black rhinos.

During the morning tour do not hesitate to take the river ride, this is the best place to observe the animals that live in or near the water, due to the tranquility and silence of this means of transportation, the animals do not get scared and run away, but stay in their habitat. Finally, if you love bird watching, we recommend traveling between October and January, during these dates there are migratory processes that use this National Park as their resting destination. Enjoy a unique experience with Liwonde.
