For visitors to Malawi, only travelers from countries not on the visa-free travel list put out by the Malawi Immigration Department need a visa. When you start the application process, you will be given a choice between three processing speeds: Standard, Rush, and Super Rush.

  • Standard Processing will have your application processed in 10 days.
  • Rush Processing will have your application processed in 9 days.
  • Super Rush Processing will have your application processed in 7 days.

What Is the Cost of a Malawi e-Visa?

Malawi e-visas are priced according to the processing speed you choose on your application:

  • Standard Processing: Your application will be processed in 10 days and will cost USD $109.99.
  • Rush Processing: Your application will be processed in 9 days and will cost USD $147.99.
  • Super Rush Processing: Your application will be processed in 7 days and will cost USD $200.99.

How Many Days Can I Stay in Malawi with My Approved e-Visa?

You are able to stay for a maximum of 90 days Per Entry if you are approved for an e-visa.

How Long Until My e-Visa Expires?

  • Your Malawi e-visa becomes invalid 90 days after issued.

Please apply for a new e-visa if yours has expired. Expired e-visas are not accepted as valid travel documentation by the Malawi Immigration department.

Is the Malawi e-Visa for Single Entry Only or Can I Use It for Multiple Entries?

If you are approved for a Malawi e-visa, your visa will allow for Multiple Entry.

Can I Bring a Paper Copy of My e-Visa Instead of Using the Soft Copy?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage you to bring both a hard copy and the soft copy of your e-visas, just in case there is trouble with it displaying on your devices. It is definitely a good idea to have a printed copy!
