Important Instructions

Micronesia, officially called the Federated States of Micronesia, is a group of islands located in Oceania. It provides some stunning sights: sandy beaches, turquoise water, and plenty of tropical natural wonders. This paradise is the ideal place to just sit in the sun while enjoying a cold drink. If you are feeling adventurous, you can explore the islands waterfalls, trails, or the ruins at Nan Madol.

Before you start packing, you need to make sure that you have all the required documentation for your trip. Fortunately, the Federated States of Micronesia allows anyone to enter the nation visa-free. In fact, there is no such thing as a Micronesia visa. However, be aware that not everyone is allowed to stay as long as they want. The permitted length of stay varies from 30 days to 365 days. For example, the citizens of the United States can remain in Micronesia for up to a year, while the nationals of the Schengen Area can visit for just 90 days. All the other travelers can stay for 30 days in Micronesia, but once they get arrive, they can extend their stay up to 60 days.

As you can imagine, iVisa cannot help with processing a Micronesia visa. Even so, before you take your trip to Micronesia, you still need to have some type of documentation and an ID card is not enough.

The only thing that is required of you before you go to Micronesia is to have a valid passport that does not expire for 120 days (about 4 months) from the date of your arrival. This document is necessary to prove your nationality. Travelers from the United States can prove their citizenship using an entry permit or a birth certificate.

Indeed, Micronesia is a tropical country worth visiting. There are few places in the world with such perfect scenery. If you go to Micronesia in the near future, we recommend that you at least take a look at your passports expiry date and make sure that it meets the requirements. Other than that, you are good to go. Safe travels!
