You can start by going to the capital of Moldova, Chişinău. The city is home to some beautiful Orthodox churches that are worth checking out. You can also check out the city's Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography.

From there you can visit the Monastery of Curchi, which is about 22 km away. The monastery was built in 1543 AD by Alexandru Lapusneanu and is one of the most important religious, cultural, and historical monuments in Moldova. You can also visit Văratec Monastery, which was established by Petru Movilă in 1640 AD on the land of his father Ştefan Tomşa and for several times was devastated and restored. The monastery became a nunnery during the 17th-18th century. Nowadays, around 40 nuns are living here constantly taking care of restoration works and all visitors' needs – they will serve you with tea or water; it's up to you.

You can go to Hârşova, where you should visit the Church of Saint Nicholas (17th century), unique in Moldova because it's built of stone. Then there is Străşeni Monastery, founded by Petru Rares in 1527 AD. Gheorghe Tattarăscu painted the monastery church in 1652 AD. Also, Chiţcani Monastery was established in 1615-1630 AD and is famous for its gilded iconostasis.
