![Pakistan launches digital disembarkation card]()
Pakistan now allows travelers holding a valid visa to complete their disembarkation card digitally through the Pak-ID mobile app. A banner on the homepage of the Ministry of Interior website states that all foreigners can apply for the Digital Disembarkation Card through the app.
The move is intended to streamline arrival procedures and reduce reliance on paper forms traditionally distributed on aircraft or at Pakistani airports.
How to complete the digital disembarkation card
The Pak-ID app, developed by the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA), is available on iOS and Android. Travelers with a valid visa must log in to the app, access their "Inbox," and select "Fill Disembarkation" to begin the process.
Once the form is submitted, a confirmation message appears on the screen. Travelers can then return to their Inbox to download the digital disembarkation card, which must be presented upon arrival along with other required documents.
Paper forms may be phased out
Previously, airlines routinely distributed paper disembarkation cards to passengers during flights. These could also be completed at the airport, though travelers were encouraged to fill them out in advance.
The digitalization of this process could eventually reduce or eliminate the distribution of physical forms, in line with broader efforts to simplify procedures for both travelers and authorities.
What travelers still need
Upon arrival in Pakistan, international passengers must carry valid travel documents, including a passport and, where applicable, an electronic visa (eVisa). The disembarkation card, now available in digital format, remains mandatory except for certain categories, such as holders of an Overseas Pakistani card.
Depending on the situation, a vaccination certificate may also be required for passengers arriving from areas identified by international authorities as posing public health risks.
