Nothing more pleasant than spending a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. That’s why Saint Lucia usually has many tourist visits, especially in the summertime. To enter this country, you have to apply for a Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form, an online document that gives you easy access once you land at the airport. Obtaining the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form isn’t difficult because the application is completely online. Also, using can save you a lot of time. To learn a little about Saint Lucia, keep in mind that this island is an atoll nation in the eastern Caribbean. It has a pair of spectacularly sharp mountains known as the Pitons, on the west coast. Saint Lucia’s coastline has volcanic beaches, reef diving sites, luxurious resorts, and fishing villages. It also has an exotic rainforest that leads to waterfalls of at least 15-meter-high like Toraille, which tumble down a cliff into a garden. The capital city is Castries, a popular port for cruise ships. The history of this island is a rich tapestry. Saint Lucia has an extraordinary mix of different cultures, which is not a surprise since it’s been hugely influenced by Europeans and Caribbeans’ references since the discovery of the “New World”. The island nowadays has a strong sense of heritage and a notorious cultural identity that many locals celebrate because they’re proud of their roots. This small island had the name of “Louanalao” by the Arawak Indians in 200 AD. The meaning of this name was “Island of the Iguanas” because, as you can guess, the iguanas are one of the most popular species on the island. The other name that this island had was “Hewanorra”, in 800 AD. In that era, the Carib Indians landed on the island and involved their culture into Saint Lucia. As an interesting fact, there are Carib descendents still present today. The Caribs lived on this small island for many years and they were the largest aboriginal population before colonization. During the period of colonialism, Caribs continued to fight against the English and French to preserve their culture on the island. That changed thanks to a pirate named François Le Clerc, commonly referred to as “Jambe de Bois” because he had a wooden leg (that’s why the popular folk tales of pirates with wooden legs started). This pirate used Pigeon Island to attack Spanish Ships during the 1550s, and after winning multiples of these battles, the pirates decided to stay for a short period on the Island. However, you can enjoy many historic sites and museums related to this part of the local history. Besides the history of this island, there are more things you can discover. Of course, it’s still important that before entering it, you get your passport and your Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form up to date. The passport is mandatory for any trip, and remember that you can obtain the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form with’s service. As you could read before, Saint Lucia has a lot of diversity thanks to its history. Carib culture still has a notorious influence on the island, but it’s already mixed with African cultures that appeared during colonial times. Another thing you can appreciate in Saint Lucia’s culture is the English, French, and Dutch elements. This unique pot of various cultures makes the island enjoyable for almost any adventurer. Visitants who arrive in Saint Lucia can enjoy these mixed cultures, and learn about the multiple eras of the island’s history. You can explore ancient archaeological sites from Arawak times or walk along with the Old Town of Vieux Fort if you want to feel like living on the island during the 17th century. Aside from the required documentation like your passport and the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form, getting around on the island is quite easy. You can use minibuses with prices that range from EC$2.50 to EC$8.00 (between $1 and $2). You can also use taxis, small boats, or even rent a car. Keep in mind that the currency on the island is the EC$ or East Caribbean Dollar. Take into account that this currency is necessary only on the island, but you can use USD as well. You don’t need to use the EC$ for documentation or internal requirements, including the application for the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form. These documents can be paid with USD. As for the weather on the island, it stays mostly warm throughout the year. The average temperature ranges from 23 to 31 ° C (84 to 87 ° F), but you should know that it has a rainy season. The rainy season in Saint Lucia starts in June and finish in December. During these times, the rainforests experience more rainfall than the coastline. However, you can still enjoy a nice stay in Saint Lucia, because the rains don’t appear every day and the weather stays warm. Notice that from December to April the island gets more visitors because it’s its driest season. During this time, you can adventure through the Tet Paul Nature Trail in Soufrière and the Pitons. Another thing you can enjoy is to explore the mineral baths in Soufrière, and zipline through the greenish rainforests. Once you land on Saint Lucia, and you show your passport and the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form, you’ll be able to start your journey. The first thing you should do is to start exploring the Pitons, one of the iconic landmarks of this nation. Two volcanic plugs are visible on the southwestern coast of the island. Another interesting thing about the Pitons is that each of them has its own name: Gros Piton (at 2,530 ft high) and Petit Piton (at 2,438 ft high). These spots inspired the creation of a local beer, Piton, a light and refreshing drink popular with locals and residents You should also take a tour to Pigeon Island, especially if you want to visit a place that combines history and nature. Pigeon Island was a separate island until 1972. In that year, the government created a road between it and the main island for easy access. Why is Pigeon Island so important? Because it’s where the notorious pirate, Jamb de Bois, created a camp to attach Spanish ships. If you want to visit Pigeon Island, you’ll need just your basic documentation, so there’s no need to take your passport or your Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form to this place. Just be careful with the travel arrangements, the idea is to take an affordable and valid tour, without risking your safety. Safety is important here because in Pigeon Island you can climb around the ruins of Fort Rodney, but it’s an enjoyable experience only if you’re careful with it. The same happens when hiking around the ruins and passing cannons. These places are beautiful to watch nature and it can be something unforgettable for you as long as plan the tour properly with a professional guide. Another landmark that you cannot forget in Saint Lucia is Soufrière, one of the most recognizable. It has this name because it comes from the sulfurous fragrances that the volcanoes create. You can explore the town square and learn more about the culture of Saint Lucia in this place. You can also take a tour of the Saint Lucia Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens while shopping for some souvenirs. Please, notice that to enter this island you still don’t need to offer the passport or the Saint Lucia Travel Registration Form again, so you can leave these documents at the hotel safely. As for the beaches, they’re a must if you visit Saint Lucia. You can enjoy many of them, including Reduit, Anse Cochon, Anse Chastanet, and La Toc, to mention some. These beaches have bright-blue waters and white sands that you’ll surely love.
