Senegal is a country in West Africa and it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. Many people tend to underestimate Senegal, but it is a beautiful country that is worth a trip. While there may be plenty of attractions in Senegal, the most appealing involve nature in all its beauty. First of all, you cannot leave Senegal without seeing Lake Retba. It has an unusual pink color, and it is incredibly salty. Plus, the Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary is heaven for birdwatchers as thousands of birds' nest and breed within the premises. Last but not least, the Fathala Reserve is the ideal place for a mini-safari. You can see giraffes, rhinos, antelopes, elands, and much more.

Before you plan your trip to Senegal, you need to check whether or not you need a visa to enter the country. Chances are that you do not need one since the citizens of 57 countries can enter Senegal visa-free and stay for up to 90 days. At the same time, visas on arrival are available for the nationalities that qualify. There are 69 such nationalities, so you may be among them. All other foreigners must visit the nearest embassy and apply for a consular visa.

If you want to find out which is the case for you, you can read Senegal’s visa policy for yourself. However, we have a better idea: iVisa’s Visa Checker. Click on the Visa Checker button located in the top-right corner, select your country of origin in the menu on the left, and choose Senegal in the menu on the right. The result will display whether or not you need a visa. If you do, you will get a list of the nearest embassies where you can apply. Senegal is not a supported country on iVisa, which is why we do not process Senegal visa applications. Should that change in the future, we will let you know, but in the meantime, we can provide you with some valuable information. Our support service is at your disposal 24/7, free of charge.

If the Visa Checker tells you that you need a Senegal visa, you must learn about the visa requirements. The internet is full of information, but we recommend that you take it skeptically and use it as a reference only. The information you find online is not always the most reliable. That is why our suggestion is to call the issuing authority and ask them about the requirements. That way, you get the info you need from a reliable source. In the meantime, what we can tell you is that all travelers who plan a trip to Senegal need a passport that remains valid for at least another 3 months from the date of arrival. Nationalities eligible for a visa on arrival require a passport that is valid for another 6 months from arrival, a return/onward flight ticket, and proof of accommodation. All travelers should be vaccinated against Yellow Fever.

We regret that we cannot help you get your Senegal visa, and we hope that the information above is useful.
