Learn More: Health Declaration

SIERRA LEONE IS OPEN- Sierra Leone re-opened for tourism in July 2020.

NOTE: Unvaccinated travelers aged 12 and older will need to pre-pay for a Covid-19 PCR Test that will be taken upon arrival. A pre-departure test will be required before leaving the country.

The Sierra Leone Travel Authorization was implemented to screen incoming international travelers for COVID-19 related symptoms, identify their travel history and store contact details in order to overcome the risks associated with traveling during the coronavirus pandemic.

All visitors are required to fill out a Travel Authorization before their trip, regardless of age and country of origin.

To successfully get the Travel Authorization, you’ll have to provide personal and travel information before your flight(s) to Sierra Leone. Proof of payment for COVID-19 arrival testing is required for unvaccinated travelers in advance.

Keep in mind that you’ll be able to obtain this document only by filling in an online form.

Once you submit your application, we’ll send the Sierra Leone Travel Authorization to your email before your trip, so you can show it to the immigration authorities when you arrive at the airport.

Required Documents to Apply

  • None

Important Instructions

  • All unvaccinated passengers will be tested on arrival at the airport. After swabs are taken, you will be allowed to leave the airport and be advised to adhere to the health protocols. Results will be sent to the passenger via SMS and also via email within 48 hours.

  • The Sierra Leone Travel Authorization is part of the required document you will need to enter Sierra Leone, it DOES NOT replace a visa. If your country requires a visa, the immigration officers will ask for your Visa when you enter the country.
