Required Documents to Apply
Swaziland is what we now know as eSwatini. The country’s name was changed in 2018 because Swaziland is the British name from the colonial period. The king of eSwatini wanted something celebrate local culture and respond to a long history of British violence and colonial aggression. Thus, he changed the name of the country into eSwatini.
eSwatini is the world’s last absolute monarchy, but it is a very popular tourist destination, mostly because of its game reserves. At the same time, even though it has many of the same problems as the other African countries, eSwatini is a peaceful state where the people are non-violent and as friendly as it gets. Add that to beautiful nature reserves, and you will have a perfect vacation.
Before you travel to eSwatini, you need to check if you need a visa to enter the country. If you take a look at the visa policy of eSwatini, you will notice that there are 95 visa-exempt countries. These nationals can enter eSwatini without a visa and stay for up to 30 days. All the other nationalities must apply for a visa at the nearest diplomatic mission.
To check whether or not you need a visa, you can take a look at eSwatini’s visa policy yourself. However, using iVisa’s Visa Checker is easier. Click on the tool located in the top right corner of this page. You then select your nationality from the left box and eSwatini as the destination in the right box. The result will be displayed in just a second and lets you know if you are eligible for visa exemption or not. If you do need a consular visa, you will be provided with a list of the nearest embassies you can go to and apply. Electronic visas are not mentioned anywhere in eSwatini’s visa policy, which is why iVisa cannot help you apply for the document you need. However, we still want to help you, which is why we put our support service at your disposal. The service is available 24/7, and it is free of charge. If you do find out that you need a visa to enter eSwatini, you must inquire about the requirements. You can find them online because the internet is full of information. However, we recommend to use it as a reference only because not everything you see online is reliable. The best thing you could do is call the diplomatic mission itself and make your inquiries there. They can give you the most reliable information. In the meantime, we can tell you that all foreigners who travel to eSwatini need to have a passport that remains valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival.
We are sorry that we cannot help you with the eSwatini visa application process. We hope that the information above is useful.
